Nice hotel and great location

Had a lovely stay at the Apex City Edinburgh. Rooms are comfortable. Lighting could be a bit better and I would prefer if they had safes installed in all rooms. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good selection. I would recommend this hotel to friends and I would stay there again.

Great Location and a Great Value

My wife and I went to Edinburgh for a week on our anniversary. The Apex is located in the grassmarket which is a fun part of the old city. Plenty of pubs and shops just outside the door, and under a five minute walk to Saint Giles, the castle or the theater. The hotel provides parking for 10 pounds a day, but there are only 8 spots and it's first come! Nice in hotel restaurant. They do offer a modern gym, but it is located in their sister hotel 50 feet down the sidewalk. Overall, we were very pleased.

Great trip

Booked for 3 nights arrived early to leave in bags and were very pleasantly surprised to be told there was a room available for us at this time approx 9.30 in the morning staff are very pleasant friendly and accommodating on the minus side our room was very close to reception which is on the first floor because of renovations and we found it to be very noisy at times but overall a great stay

city break

In general we were delighted with our choice of hotel the location for us was perfect and the food and staff very good, the one thing which was disappointing and, in the summer months, would stop us from using this hotel again was the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms and corridors. We did not think a four star hotel would require the need for large and sometimes noisy fans.

Excellent location for getting known the city

The best on this hotel is its location, just 15 minutes to walk to Edinburgh Castle and to the Royal Mile. The room was a bit to warm, first we got one with a "view" at a parking lot, but eventually we could change to a better situated room with a more agreeable outlook. The beds, furniture and the equipment of the bathroom were o.k., but on our 2nd day the warm water run out and during 2 days we could not take a shower, which should not happen in a 4stars hotel. The breakfast was very good, the service a little slow but very polite. We can recommend the hotel.
