Great hotel

My partner and I go to Edinburgh often and after trying several 4-star hotels found this one and we love it. The location is superb, the rooms are modern and well-furnished, the spa is nice (even if the pool is chilly and the area around it very small). Highly recommended.

Apex Waterloo rocks

My second time at the Apex Waterloo was even better then the first time. Friendly reception staff, nice clean well decorated rooms with great bathrooms, very good breakfast and very nice sauna and exercise rooms. Location is perfect - in new town but a very short from the old town. Very near Waverley Bridge where the express bus (100) from the airport stops. Very near Calton park which is nice to visit. All around a good hotel at a fair price.

Short stay in Edinburgh

We stayed 3 nights at the Apex Waterloo while visiting friends in Edinburgh. The location is great just off Princes street, next to the train station and a few blocks from the Royal Mile. The room was larger than most in Europe and very comfortable. The restaurant and bar were nice with friendly staff. Would stay here again if we ever return to Edinburgh.

Great Hotel in Great Area

This is a great hotel in a very convenient part of Edinburgh. Minutes to a good shopping mall and the great shopping streets of Edinburgh. The rooms are modern and very clean. The only downside there is no parking on the hotel premises. You have to do about a 7 minute walk to a nearby parking lot.

One of my all-time favorites

This was seriously one or two nitpicky things away from being a perfect hotel experience. The curtains didn't quite fit the window and let in some light, there was no clock radio at all, and the water in the shower never really got all that warm (I like HOT showers). Other than those very minor things, it was a great hotel, and a great stay. Location is perfect, the room was beautiful, Internet was free and worked very well, and the staff was great and helped me out without making me feel dumb when I accidentally locked some stuff in my room when checking out. Admittedly, the layout of the hotel is a bit bizarre due to its being in an old building, but it was no big deal. I would absolutely stay there again, and I wouldn't even consider any other hotel.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

You absolutely have to see Edinburg Castle. I was blown away by the amazing structures and the views of the city.
