A 'Fringe' Break

4 of us (females) stayed 2 nights in twin bedrooms whilst attending The Fringe Festival. Located just off the North Bridge at the end of Princes Street, it is near enough to all the festivities and venues but in a quieter area. All the amenities are excellent. The bedrooms are well appointed with comfy beds and unusually very comfy pillows. We all loved the 'duck' in the bathroom - again roomy and well appointed. We enjoyed the pool and the steam room - bliss. In the bar we ate the steak 'special', steak, frites with a glass of wine - superb value and very delicious - steaks cooked to our requirements. We all left very happy and would definitely return.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you don't want to confine yourself to the hotel, just a short walk up the road is Howies restaurant which serves lovely food and further down the road we ate a delicious breakfast at an Italian restaurant.

Perfect Stay in Edinburgh

Hotel is centrally located to old and new towns and close to the train station - an easy walk from the Airport connection bus. Arrived early from an overnight flight from the US and was able to check in early without a problem. Staff was very helpful! Very glad I decided to stay here!

Sightseeing visit

Hotel is located centrally, close to everything. No more than 10 minutes walk from Castle, Holyrood, Salisbury Crags. Princes St shops on your doorstep. 5 minutes from Waverley train station and Airlink 100 bus to/from airport. Next to Carlton Hill - go here first, great views) Room was spacious, very clean. Fab bathroom, great shower (bath provided), hot water all day small amount of water provided free. Small fridge. Large TV made it feel like home. Hotel is modern with good facilities. Staff were very friendly and helpful during whole 4 days stay. Spa / gym facilities excellent for a Hotel and good availability - open 6.30-10. Spa treatments very good. Business suite for Internet / printer access. Did not try the restaurant but had lunch in the bar and food was very good, hot and quick to arrive. Breakfast at £15 is over-priced, Macdonalds round corner, panini cafe Next door and newsagents two doors away sells individual portions of cereals. Only marked down on comfort, buttons on bed mattress protruded uncomfortably, and price as very expensive even without breakfast included but value compared to other Hotels in location.
