Excellent Location to explore all of Edinburg

If you're looking for a launchpoint to a Scot's experience more than than the Royal Mile this hotel is for you. Located on the 35 bus line and within easy walking distance of High Street and local shopping entertainment and residential areas, this hotel can't be beat for location and value. Hotel Staff are friendly and responsive. Accomodations are quiet, clean, comfortable and well maintaned. The hotel restaraunt was tastefully appointed, service was prompt, food was tasteful and on a whole was a good value experience.

Great city break!

We had a twin room on the top floor faraway from any elevators so it was very nice and quiet! Bathroom clean and spacious.. We were greated by friendly receptionist and got all the info we needed.. The only tiny downside was the location - bit of a hike up the hill from buzz of Royal Mile etc but at least it was quiet. Unlike other hotels this one [our room] didn't have a minibar. Over all good!

Very comfortable and friendly hotel/great citybreak

My wife and i arrived at 10am and were able to check-in to our room which was very welcome as we had been travelling since 4am. Staff were very friendly and good humoured and assisted us in every way. We were celebrating my birthday on following day and i even got a birthday card from the staff ! We did all the city tours and of course visited the castle which was overpriced in admission charge, our guide raced through his script which was difficult to grasp due to his local accent and only lasted 30mins although we were told it lasted an hour when buying tickets. However we found a wonderfully entertaining/interesting venue just down from the castle "Camera Obscura" which we would highly recommend to other visitors. The hotel location was very convenient as no. 35 bus stop was outside and this bus served the airport and Ocean Pier Shopping Mall and Royal Yacht "Britannia "which is well worth a visit also.

full of character

It's a pleasant change to stay in a hotel that doesn't feel like part of a chain. Lovely spacious room, good breakfast for a small extra amount, characterful building, friendly staff and convenient for the museums etc of Edinburgh.
