Very homey.
I really liked the space and comfort of the apartment. It was missing a few things such as an alarm clock and a toaster. The staff was very nice and the location was great. The decor was a little dull but it was nice to have all that room. There is a small grocery store around the corner and it's just steps from the Royal Mile. I would stay there again.

Short walk from hotel
Ecco Vino is FABULOUS! Wonderful Italian food in a tiny quaint restaurant right off the Royal Mile.

Family of 4 Enjoyed Edinburgh - great!
Hotel is located walking distance from all we needed for 4 days, including Castle, Holyrood Palace, Parliament, Princes Street, trains and more. Used the provided under car park. Comfy beds. Super to have kitchenette - with Tesco food just around the corner.

Fantastic location and value for money!
These apartments were surperb! They were in a great location on the Royal Mile within easy access to the many tourists spots of edinburgh. We had food in the pub a few doors away which was excellent and even joined in the pub quiz (Tuesday night). I would definitely recommend them, and having stayed in Edinburgh on a number of occassions found these to be the best. Check-in was easy, staff brillliant - overall a great choice.

Apartment was large and spotlessly
Apartment was large and spotlessly clean and worthy of its fourstar rating. Location was as described - Royal Mile was a couple of hundred yards away and the Scottish Government Building and Dynamic Earth a hundred yards the other way. We were on a last minute break and paid a low rate making it an even better getaway. Only minor quibble is the one lift can take ages (we were on the fifth floor) to arrive. The underground parking was good value at £8.50 per day considering the location of the apratments.

As a first time visitor to Edinburgh,
As a first time visitor to Edinburgh, I got really lucky when I blindly booked this hotel online. The location can't be beat, and the level of amenities for the money is well within reason. My wife and I stayed a total of three (3) nights, and our hotel provided an excellent "base of operations" to explore the city. We could walk to the Royal Mile in less than a minute, and be at the doorstep to the castle in less than 15. A word to those visiting for the first time and driving... the parking garage is accessible from Cowgate and is NOT MARKED! My wife and I drove around the vicinity of the hotel for 30 minutes looking for the hotel before we finally parked (illegally) and explored on foot. That being said, once you find the hidden parking garage you'll be exceptionally pleased with the facility. We'll stay here again, if we're lucky enough to visit Scotland in the future.

Good & Bad
Great location, short walk to the the royal mile. Easy to get to all tourist attractions. We rode hop on/hop off bus, which comes along the royal mile. Very clost to shopping and restaurants. Only thing that was bad, was hotel did not provide me with non-smoking room (room wreaked of smoke smell, which irritated my cold) as I requested when I made my reservation and they did not put us near the friends that we arrived with, who did have non-smoking room.

Shopping tip:
Long walk from hotel
Best shopping is sort of a long walk up the royal mile. i.e. once arrive at royal mile from hotel, head to the left, which is heading up the street vice down the street. Head down the streat (turn right) if want to go to Holyrood Castle, which I highly recommend.
