Perfect Location

We arrived at the train station just after midnight and were delighted to find the hotel just around the corner. The next morning we had a few things to get before heading to Aberdeen for a wedding and it was so easy to leave the hotel on the third floor and go straight into St James shopping mall which has everything. This hotel has a perfect location. On the downside the rooms felt a bit cold

great city break

arrived by train and was only a couple of minutes from station and easy to find . checked in by pleasant staff and gave us a map and some tips on eating etc .Room was nice plenty of space and red hot couldn't turn down the heating so did get too hot although there was a fan on the ceiling You could open the window as well .We had emailed the day before to get a high floor and back of hotel which we got so was nice and quiet .Beds were comfortable bathroom was a little on the small size but was adequate for our stay . Breakfast was included in our deal and there was bacon eggs sausage plus lots more and continental as well as cereal fruit and toast plenty to choose from .We went to Princess street and art gallery .Found some good eating places especially Advocate on Friday night as they have a singer with guitar on ,the went to Whistle Binkies and a rock band was on .they have three acts on most nights and closes early hours of the morning if you want to stay late . All in all found perfect break everything to hand and friendly people and would recommend it . June

Nice but Noisy

The Hotel was just around the corner from Princes Street and a great location for all attractions. Everything was great about this Hotel except the room we had was at the front on a busy Road. The double glazing didn't keep the traffic noise out which woke me a few times in the night. Would stay here again but request a room at the back of Hotel.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If you're staying a few days save yourself expensive city parking charges by parking in a private parking place advertised through a parking website. We did and saved £30+

nice place bad hotel

we had bad experience in this hotel, when we arrived about 1700 the staff told us that there was an error on their website and their rooms are already full.. and they are trying to call us... but our booking was more than 1 month advance and we didnt receive any calls from them.. they want us to transfer to other hotels but we didnt accept... after few mins they gave us a room with 2 seperate beds instead of a double bed that we reserved..we dont recommend this hotel.

Average Hotel

The Hotel is in a very nice location, able to walk to hop-on/off buses that meet at Waverly bridge that is about a 10min walk. There is a local bus route right outside the hotel. We came in early March and the weather was sunny with no rain at all. Just dress warmly since you will get warm with all the walking anyway! The Hotel is connected to a shopping center "John Lewis" and has a sky-bridge that goes to the movie theater which also contains various restaurants (Pizza Hut!). Our room had two twin size beds pushed apart when we ordered a queen. We did not bother to ask for a different room from a long days travel and just wanted to sleep. The room itself was average, the bathroom was small. There is a hairdryer, ironing board, coffee/tea maker, T.V, AC/Heat available. We did utilize room service one day and it was speedy (about 20 minutes). There is a restaurant on the ground floor which also serves breakfast which was not the best for 15 B.P per person. It was actually more affordable to go to the Starbucks across the street! What made this place is defiantly the staff. Every single one of them were very nice and helpful.
