Courtyard by Marriott London Gatwick Airport

As plans sometimes change, I requested to cancel the reservation but they had a non-refundable cancellation policy. It is understandably, but a week before the reservation date I'm certian they are able to book that rm to someone else. Then I requested to simply have them transfer the reservation to another property since I could'nt cancel but the front desk could not find the manager that had to approve it. This is a pathetic show of customer service and will not support this chain in the future.

The Courtyard is close enough to walk to - It makes a great central location to get to London but not the price of London. There is an express traing that leaves from a fifteen minute walk. Buses to all over England. It did not get any other better than this. The staff was wonderful. There are a lot of signs guding you from the airport to the hotel. The hotel rooms are quite and they are very well kept. The hotel was built in 2009 and is great. The English style breakfast is not included but well worth the 10 pounds per night. - Great value for the money will book there again.

Excellent in every way. Close to the airport, helpful staff. Would always stay there again.

We chose this hotel because we had an early morning flight out of Gatwick - South Terminal. While one can *technically* walk from South Terminal to the hotel, it really is not a comfortable walking distance (especially if you have luggage). What was even more shocking is that there is no free shuttle bus between hotel and terminal - you have to pay 3 GBP per person. To add insult to injury, wi-fi is NOT free, unless one is a Marriott Rewards Elite member (basic membership does not garner free wi-fi.) Finally, it was disappointing that we were told we could not earn Marriott Rewards points, because the room was prepaid on [...](and thus, the hotel could not see the rates we paid, so no points could be earned). But usually at other Marriotts, one can earn points even when booking through [...], so the Courtyard Marriott Gatwick probably just didn't want to issue the points. Terrible. I would NOT stay here again.

Nice and close to Gatwick Airport...however long walk after a long day. Good price. Train ride 30+/- minutes into London. Staff pretty friendly. When we asked to borrow a universal plug, we were told the pilots were staying there for 2 months and had them all. (WHAT???) Why not limit it for 1 day at a time. No one needs a plug for 2 months straight. No washcloths...:-( Could save $$$ by actually not washing the towels when they were hung on the rack (as requested on the note) Also could save $$$ if they did the same with sheets...one can go 1-2 days without clean sheets...

Good: Room was quite nice/comfortable. The room decor was new & modern. We had asked for a cot bed/crib for our infant when we made our reservation and when we arrived it was already in the room set up and they even left us extra sheets, just incase. The continental breakfast was quite fantastic, food was fresh and there was a great variety too. Bad: The reception staff was neither friendly or helpful. The shuttle bus that was noted for the hotel does charge, it's not much 2.50 british pounds per person, but if you're expecting the traditional free hotel shuttle, it comes as a shock if you're not carrying cash.

Clean and efficient, well located hotel. Quiet rooms and simplistic in style! Beds a little uncomfortable and hotel shuttle over-priced and late!! Suits requirements of airport overnight!

We always stay at Courtyards in the US, but this was probably the best we have stayed in. We stayed here to catch a flight early in the a.m.

Nice hotel-but it was a long walk to it- I expected it to be attached.
