The Best

I actually have alot to say about this property. I had read all previous reviews prior to making a reservation. This is our 2nd trip to Scotland-Glasgow in 4 years. We love Scotland. We prepared our breakfast most mornings, and evening meals sometimes. These were full meals. Some of the reviews complained about the noise...you have to remember that this is not the US. The Scots visit the pubs at night & the nightlife is very important as well as celebrating their teams. If you want to experience the US stay in the US...this is part of the Scotland experience. I read the comments about the heat & requested a room on the lower floors because this is a historic hotel & heat rises. Every request for accomodations were honored explicitly...we did not make outrageous requests. Our requests for p/u at the airport was not overcharged...it was at a cost of 20L and our taxi for our return trip at 0200 to the airport was 19.60L. WIFI available at the hotel, but free around the corner at Maggie Mays. I took earplugs d/t being a very light sleeper & it worked perfectly. Thanks for the idea in a previous review. I also took a sleep mask because I am also a sleeper who likes complete darkness. You must remember that this is a city. We did not partake of the breakfast provided at 6L. What would have made our stay better!?! I truly after much reflection can only think of a couple of very minor things...a plug in the bathroom, but plenty of room at the desk was available for makeup & use of blow dryer and satellite TV would have been nice, mostly for variety for that 1 hour or so at night to watch for relaxation. The location was great for trains. We were literally 5 minutes from Queen & Central Stations. Bus stop was just around the corner. Shopping was very close. For those leaving the US for the first time...this will sound crazy, but grocery shopping abroad is very different & limited in choices. An ASDA store...which is a Wal-Mart with the Mega selections is 1.9 miles from the hotel & a short bus ride but there are very large Tesco's/Marks & Spencer's as well. In our 8 days we attended:the Glasgow Festival for 3 days, traveled to Gourock for a day (very short train ride), to Inverness for a day (3.5 hr train one way), & to Edinburg for a day (50 min train) with 4 bus tours. We are in our 50's & loved every walking min. We only took a bus the one day to the ASDA Store. Walked every where we went. Our previous visit was in a hotel that the room was microscopic for a week. Literally you could only walk around the bed & very small bathroom. We are not big on space because for us we mostly only sleep in the room, but you do need space to place items purchased, clothes, & somewhere to sit other than lying in bed. This was awesome for us this time! We would highly recommend staying here & felt the area to be very safe. My only concern is that due to the amount of booking increases r/t this review prices may increase & it could be more difficult to get a reservation.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Do not be afraid of the trains & traveling. Get out and experience everything. Just remember you are in another country & don't be afraid to ask for help. We have found the Scots to be some of the most friendly people in our travels.

On this occasion I stayed in the Studio, rather than the bedroomed apartment.I found it to be more than adequate for a weekend stay. The location is within the Merchant City area and all of the entertainment it provides, is on the doorstep In particular,if you are visiting Glasgow for a social weekend, rather than business - as a Glaswegian I heartily recommend Fraser Suites to you.

The very best from all 3 of us.

It was a pleasure to find ourselves in roomy comfort, very, very clean, superb staff giving every assistance to our stay. Mapping out points of interest and giving a verbal history of same, Malcolm certainly knows his Glasgow. What more can we say, oh yes, plenty of establishments within walking distance, with choices for all appetites. Could not have been more central. We were very satisfied indeed. Would recomend to anyone. And, to know you are world wide was an eye opener. Relatives who came to visit us were most impressed.

Perfect place to stay in Glasgow!

We were thrilled with the huge room we had, including a complete kitchenette, king comfy bed, and all sorts of extra bathroom toiletries. The hotel is walking distance from just about everything in Glasgow, and the staff are extremely helpful. They even have a shuttle driver that was easier to book to return to the airport than a cab. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

a great find

i was surprised by how large our room was. had a kitchen, bathroom, living room area, desk, and bedroom area. kind of a large studio apartment. with very high ceilings. everything was clean and well designed. large 10' tall windows looked out to the street below. it was nice. the free wifi in the room worked great, the staff was friendly and the location of the hotel was pretty good. the breakfast wasn't free and also wasn't worth the ₤6/pp. but there was free coffee in the lobby and with kitchens in the rooms eating shouldn't really be a problem for most i wouldn't think.
