Overnight stay.
Incredibly reasonable price of £61 after exchange from $. Room cleanliness is marked down only because it was a smoking room but we were apologised to at check-in. Staff is marked down as at 7am on Sunday morning the cleaner came into the room. She was apologetic but key card system should show the room is occupied. Breakfast was surprisingly good and at the price we paid we would definitely return.

A little noisy
The hotel is conveniently located since it has a service station with a small grocery store in front and is well served by buses to the city. Our room was noisy, from people chatting while having a smoke outside or our neighbors having a loud drunk argument. Maybe we were just not lucky with our room.

excellent short stay
Only spent 1 night at this hotel but would be happy to return and recommend it to others. For the very reasonable rate we were charged, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

new year break
lovely, clean, modern hotel inside. we had to move rooms AFTER we unpacked and my husband was in the bath due to telly not working, Then 2 boys came into our 2nd room while we relaxed as they were just given that room! Not amused but a free bottle of wine helped after dramas. lovely staff, breakfast nice and lovely food at dinner. Free car parking and bus and taxis outside. Would go back.

What we needed, but...
The hotel offered a good price and was the only one near where we wanted to be in the West End of Glasgow. Still it was a bit disappointing. We stayed there in mid-November, but had to keep the window open all the time to try to cool the room down. (No A/C and the window opened only a few inches.) Leaving the window open meant we got traffic noise from Great Western Rd. Plus, EVERY morning there was some truck or other outside work going on at 5-6 am, waking us up. The bed felt hard and worn-out. The only cover was a comforter. So it was hard to get comfortable and not be too hot. There was also a compressor/fan noise that cut on and off every few minutes, all night long. (Maybe the AC for another room?) Breakfast and staff were good. I might stay there again IF I could be assured of a room that was more comfortable. I'd recommend this only to someone who wants to be in walking distance for that area in Glasgow (like we did) -- and then I'd encourage them to make sure the room is comfortable.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
Make the most of the complete Scottish breakfast. We could easily skip lunch each day after eating the hotel's breakfast.

Good value
The staff were very courteous and attentive. Our requests were met in a timely manner. Rooms were adequately stored with necessities and well cleaned. The in house restaurant was high priced , but there is a market right next door, Marks & Spencers where you can find snacks etc.and an ATM machine but they should at least consider a small refrigerator in the rooms. It was centrally located to public transport as well, easy getting around to shopping, sights and the city centre.

This was my second visit to this
This was my second visit to this hotel. Once again, check-in was on the slow side and I was initially sent to an unserviced room. Thereafter everything was good with pleasant staff and a well equipped bedroom. Bar prices are on the high side.

Cheerful and helpful staff. Good
Cheerful and helpful staff. Good value hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. Not city centre, but easy access to city and attractions. Only thing missing is a leisure club. If you want a good value room, for little more than a "travelinn" but with service and personality included, then I can recommend the Pond Hotel

The Glasgow pond was a pleasant
The Glasgow pond was a pleasant enough hotel and the room was very clean and tidy. One thing to bear in mind is its an expensive taxi ride from the hotel to the center of Glasgow and my only critism of the hotel was we were kept awake til 1am by a noisy toddler in the next room and were woken at 7am by the same noisy toddler causing us to be extremely tired all the next day.Surely its only fair that on your arrival staff should warn you there is a very young child in the next room or alternatively plan things so people with youngsters are in the one area.It was pointless us putting the "dont disturb" sign on the door.
