Noise at Marks' Hotel
We booked this as part of a trip to Glasgow and had read other comments about the late night pub/club/bar noise. So we booked a "City View" room seven floors up. It was not high enough. The room and location were fine; but four nights out of eight we were awaken by club noise between one and three each night. Other Glasgow bars (we like bars) post notices asking their patrons to remember their neighbors. Marks management needs to make other business owners aware of their situation.

Comfort and Modern, a Winning Combination
A convenient walk from the Queen Street station, the Marks Hotel Glasgow is a standout, literally. We could see the hotel's structure and bright blue facade. The room was spacious and quite clean. The best feature? The large windows across one entire wall and the top portions opened. The room had large, floor to ceiling blackout curtains, a comfortable bed, quirky shower (as in hard to figure out, but loads of hot water). We would return!

Hotel was average, location was very good and clean too, but the bed was so small and in very very poor condition. My feet hung over the edge and I'm only 5'9". Yet another tired Glasgow hotel in need of a renovation.

Comfortable, overnight stay
We stayed in Glasgow overnight, enroute to the west coast and found the hotel comfortable. It was a short 4-5 block walk from the train station and conveniently located near restaurants, 24- hr newsstands for sim, phone cards etc., and near a lot of shopping. There was a fire outside the hotel during our stay that brought us down to find the staff engaged, on top of the problem, and pleasant. High marks for good training. The breakfast was included in our pkg and was hot, complete and tasty. My only recommendation is for the hotel to add a fan in rooms. If we kept our windows closed, it got stiflingly hot and muggy. Open, and you heard street noise, trucks, people, and in our case, smoke from the fire in the alley.

Excellent value for money
The Marks Hotel is an excellent boutique hotel situated 5-7 minutes walk away from Glasgow Central Station and about 10 minutes from Queen Street Station. George Square is only just 12 minutes away. The main shopping areas and lots of good restaurants are within walking distance too. The hotel itself is clean, room service is excellent and the staff very helpful and polite. The rooms are nicely decorated and spaceous enough. If I ever go back to Glasgow, I would like to stay in the same hotel. Excellent value for money, highly recommended!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
A family-run Turkish restaurant on Hope Street, just 2 or 3 blocks from the hotel offers excellent food at affordable prices. The decour is a mixture of traditional Turkish and contemporary Europen styles.

A good hotel centrally located
A good hotel centrally located within easy walking distance of most of the sights of Glasgow and any number of restaurants to suit all pockets and tastes, should you not wish to eat in the hotel's restaurant. The rooms are more than adequate for a week's stay and have the advantage of Wi Fi internet access included in the room rate

Had a very pleasant stay. Clean,
Had a very pleasant stay. Clean, friendly atmosphere with excellent bar menu. Ideal city centre location for shopping and attractions. 10 minute taxi run to the SECC. Only negative point was the noise of the nightlife (which cant be helped)
