Stay with Confidence - Good Digs in Glasgow

I was impressed with the Ramada Inn, Glasgow. The room was very comfortable and I enjoyed the modern bath. The bed was clean and afforded me a good night’s sleep before a horrendous day of traveling overseas. I liked it that I could open my window and get some fresh air. I didn't have to use any air conditioning as a result. They put me in a room with a rotten view, but I didn't mind. At this point I enjoyed the privacy. I thought it might stink since I was near the trash cans, but they're a lot cleaner in the UK than Americans apparently, and I didn't smell a thing except some good cooking in the kitchen. Shuttle to the airport was a nice touch and helped me out immensely. The driver was very nice and accommodating. I recommend this hotel highly and will return when I come back to Glasgow.

no free shuttle

One reason I booked the Ramada at Glasgow airport was that an airport shuttle was mentioned. When I arrived, I called. No shuttle in the evening. It was a 5 pound sterling ride. In the morning, a shuttle is available but costs. Breakfast was very expensive. Food was only served until 9:30 p.m. which is not good for an airport location where people come at all hours. The reception staff was not helpful or friendly.

Just right for the night

I was only staying in Glasgow for one night so I needed a hotel close to the airport, this was just right. I took a taxi from the airport which only cost 4 pounds and was a quick trip. The staff was very friendly and helpful with questions and even set up a shuttle bus to the airport for the next morning (which only cost 2 pounds). I had an evening meal at the restaurant which wasn't anything special but certainly kept me full for the night. I didn't rate it with 5 stars for just a few reasons: the WiFi was only available in the lounge area and not in the room, there was no ATM on site, and when I first went to use the bathroom in my room the sink was full of water which had weird bits of gunk floating in it as if the cleaning was only done halfway. Other than those minor inconveniences it was a very pleasant stay for me. The wonderfully helpful staff certainly makes this hotel stand out to me and I'd definitely give it another chance because of that.

Couldn't be more convenient

I was injured when I travelled to Glasgow on a business trip. Even with limited mobility, it was an easy walk from the airport to the hotel, and getting into Glasgow next day by bus was both convenient and cheap! The hotel was easy to negotiate, with a comfortable bar and restaurant. Spacious room and large wet room shower made things really easy overnight. Service from the staff was excellent, even if the drinks prices were a little high.

Good value better than average bedrooms

We were at a family friends funeral in Paisley. This hotel rovided everything we needed and much classier than your average Travelodge type hotel. Staff were very helpfull and would edfinately stay there again.

Disappointed

This is the third time that I have stayed at this hotel at Glasgow Airport. I decided to stay there two nights before my departure - had to pay 4 times the cost of the first reservation. This additional day included breakfast! Everything was COMPLETELY unedible - except the toast. To put it bluntly, it was disgusting! Regarding the room, they only supplied one small and one large towel - for TWO people - for two days! No face cloths were provided. I had to fetch towels from the staff in order to get a clean towel for both of us! To add insult to injury, the hotel charged a transportation fee for each of us to be transported to the terminal. This has always been provided free of charge in the past. After all, it is normally a courtesy for hotel guests to be driven the few yards it takes to reach the terminal. I seriously doubt that we will ever stay there again. Thank you for listening to me. Salleigh.

Less than I expected

The room was fine although there was no coffee pot to which we are accustom. We asked for a wake-up call which never happened. The bar/restaurant was very poorly staffed. The bartender splashed coke all over my wife's back and never even apologized. The shuttle to the airport, for which we paid, was 15 minutes late. We expected more from a Ramada than that.
