Best budget hotel in the area

The rooms are small but very comfortable, and cater to more of a younger populace, with rooms having a queen bed and a single bunk bed, that would also be great for a couple with a young child. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and the rates are excellent. The food is always freshly cooked, the breakfasts plentiful, and the bar prices very decent. I would certainly consider staying here again.Parking is free onsite and the hotel is a good mile walk from the city centre but I would recommend a taxi if after dark.

Great location for Echo Arena

Booked this hotel for a stay after a show at the Echo Arena. Room was smal but clean, had kettle with tea and coffee and TV with all Freeview stations. All staff were polite and helpful. Benefits of free parking including full day of departure and free wifi in rooms. Continental breakfast excellent value at £5.95. All in a good value stay.

Great hotel for the price

The hotel doesn't look that great from the outside, but the inside is relatively nice. The check in people were extremely nice and helpful. The room was small, but had everything you could need (bed, bathroom, hair dryer, free wifi, etc#. The only problems with the room #single room# was the shower was rather small #not recommended for larger people) and the bed was pretty hard. I thought I wasnt going to be able to sleep on it, but I ended up sleeping fine. Free parking was nice also and was a relatively short walk to downtown and all the sights.

First impressions good

stayed for 1 night at the Dolby hotel, when we first arrived all look good , friendly staff and a nice lobby and sitting area, room was the main down side it was as if they had a dog in it at one time and my partner is allergic so she could not breath well at all, the room needed to be updated, felt like i was in a kids room with a bunk bed, you also could hear all the traffic from out side we where at the front of the building.they also have air fresheners in the corridors the ones that squirt out, think it was trying to get rid of the smell off damp.

Great Value

Visited Liverpool at the end of September and was looking for something inexpensive and close to the city centre. THe Dolby Hotel ticked all the boxes and I would highly recommend. The rooms are very basic ... but understandable given the price. Not one to book if you are looking for a luxurious break! But ideal for a cheap hotel for a fabulous city break.

Best-avoided, nothing special about this hotel

On arrival i was checked in to the room, reception was looking clean and tidy, staff weren't particularly welcoming, my room was an ok size, a strange sort of porta cabin for a bathroom. Colours and decor were dark and drab, carpet was dark brown which disguised how dirty it was, perhaps this is how staff had managed to avoid vacuming but by far the worst bit was the smell of the room, dispite saying it was a no- smoking room there was an over powering smell of cigarettes.

Amazing Stay

I really have all good things to say about this hotel. We arrived and the staff was very friendly and inviting, and also very helpful. The lady at the front desk offered us a map and explained where all the tourist sites were and circled everything and also helped us find a venue that wasn't on the map. The rooms were very nice and very clean and the view of the waterfront is lovely. We ate dinner at the resturant in the hotel both nights we stayed and it is great food for a great price, no complaints at all. If their was anything we needed the staff was very accomadating in getting it for us. Also the hotel was very close to all major tourist attractions, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go because it was so close. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Great value, great service, great everything.

The Albert Dock is a must see place. It has 3 museums that are fun to check out, and it is also full of little shops, cafes, and nice resturants. When at the dock you should definitely check out The Yellow Duck Marine tour, it is a blast and the tour guides are so much fun.
