ThIs is a good deal for somebody on a working trip
Well okay the Hotel is basic. You walk in and your heart sinks a little at state of decor, holes in wall, etc But......room if a little drab was spotlessly clean, with clean sheets, and also warm, quiet and peaceful - when located in part of Hotel not overlooking main road. On the first night, my room was facing the main road, but I asked if there was a room away from the road and they managed to move me for the remaining three nights. The room away form the road was very peaceful. All rooms have a flat screen TV (£20 returnable deposit). Breakfast was cereal, toast, cheese, eggs- DIning room rough but come on for this price you can't expect tea at the Ritz! The staff were helpful and friendly Basically a fantastic deal for central London- maybe a tiny bit drab - but warm, clean, quiet, and that should really suffice for the price! I stayed one week and was happy to book again for the remaining 4 weeks of my work schedule in London

Get what you pay for
Room was clean and fresh towels next morning, TV was broken, you need to pay extra for internet (£1 or £2 for an hour), shower head didn't stay on wall because bracket was broken.. Kettle worked, hair dryer worked... Never got up in time for breakfast, either day of stay... Lift was dodgy but worked (Slowly)... Never set foot in the bar or food area... Woke early Monday morning with construction noise... Our room was clean.. 24 hour reception... Location was brilliant... across the road from a little food shop... Everything is on Craven Road McDonalds KFC BK etc.. Couple of nice pubs and cafes.. ATM around the corner... The Paddington Hilton is practically across the road... 500 yards from Paddington station... Cant think of anything else but it worked for us because we wanted somewhere clean and close to the center with good tube access...

Terrible stay - hotel under reconstruction
Hotel is under reconstruction (Christmas 2011) - Awful smell of fresh painting in the rooms (unbearable), no water during the daytime, water leaks dripping from the ceiling lamp in the bathroom - and during the night noisy water pump working every half an hour. Corridor, lift, and ground floor in poor shape/cleanliness - need to be refurbished. Furniture in poor shape in the rooms (oldish and broken). No need to say that it was just impossible to sleep and we shorten our stay to one single night and cancel our full stay for our Christmas in London - we returned straight to Paris and are still waiting for our refund.

simply , keep away
what a disaster for our trip to London. We first checked into CROWN HYDE PARK and we felt so awful that we moved to ASCOT HYDE PARK having arrived from a fantastic hotel in Berlin at almost half the price. I could never believe that the hotel situation in the UK is so expensive yet so disgusting. Breakfast room was like a german 2nd WW bunker underground, tv not working, bathroom forget it, everything was so disappointing not to mention the rude personnel at the reception. For god's sake, forget the description of hotels in these sites. Most of them are awful, at least this is what we got from these two hotels. Better sleeep on a bench in Hyde Park.

Not 3*
Definately not 3*! The hotel is OK for just sleeping in, it was tidy, but very run down. There was no dining area (as in photos), we ate in the pool room. Choice of breakfast; cornflakes or toast. Staff not professional and no tea facilities in the twin room, even though I asked different reception staff for 2 days of my 2 night stay. Staff do not make eye contact or speak to you until you're standing right in front of them. On the positive side the towels were fresh every day and it's a 2 min walk to underground.

This place was the cheapest available
This place was the cheapest available on the date in the Paddington area. Previously I had trusted Rates to Go to have a minimum standard. This place certainly was below our minimum standard. We looked at the room and left and had to book somewhere else at walk in rates. It looks like one of those places being run down waiting for a redevelopment. Perhaps students and backpackers will accept the level of decor and cleanliness but for the rest of us I would give it a miss.

This place is an absolute dump.
This place is an absolute dump. The hotel (if you can call it a hotel) requires a complete renovation and upgrade. We took one look at the room we booked and decided to go elsewhere. Come on Hotel Club, why are you promoting this rubbish.

Adequate for overnight stay -
Adequate for overnight stay - close to Paddington Station but hotel generally needing doing up and meals advertised were not available as described on the website. I don't think I would repeat the experience.

Good Wi-Fi. Close to Paddington
Good Wi-Fi. Close to Paddington tube station. Very old and basic hotel although price probably reflects this. No mention of a credit card fee when booking, you get stung at check-in when paying remaining balance. Seriously, these days everything is payed with credit card, who carries wads of cash around. Bath tub is extremely high to get in & out of. Breakfast is very basic. I think from memory it's rated as 3 star, that's questionable.
