Decent place to stay in London
For us, the main complaint is that the wifi was down. The staff was mostly friendly, but despite the fact that we had the confirmation code, they made us wait for their system to update because we had booked the room the same day we checked in. Also the breakfast served was over-priced for the quality of food served. (Note: the service in the restaurant was great, just the food was sub-par)

Give it a miss for at least 3 months
Booked for my girlfriends birthday and found out after speaking to the hotel and booking that refurbishments were taking place. On arrival it was a shell of a building!! Managed to navigate to the room,on the 3rf floor, and were both surprised. It was excellent....clean, modern and plant of storage etc. However, the refurbs take place between 7.30-1800. This is annoying when you want a decent nights sleep. Then to add insult to it they turn the power off. Not ideal when shaving in a windowless bathroom! Phoned reception who could barely speak English let alone hear me over the drilling and there was no apology just part of the works! So on check out politely asked if they had many complaints....Yes was the answer followed by but we have to work here all the time you only sleep here....Oh we'll that's alright then....Idiot! The final straw was when I had already paid for 2 nights they charged my credit card again on departure! After kicking up a stink they told me they hadn't and it was a miscommunication! Avoid like the plague until works complete!

great value and location
overall great experience.. we wanted to check in early since my flight arrived hours before normal check-in time, and they tried to accomodate us. ('upgraded' us to a club room, though i'm not sure how different it is from a standard room).. room was great & spacious (although, the large bed was really two beds pushed together).. bathroom was new & a great size. only real problem was that the A/C didn't work well - only did the work of a fan really. when booking a room, i would suggest an upper floor (2 and above), and a club room.

Not that Best Western!
No smile or warm welcome at reception. We were however told we'd been upgraded - but the room wasnt ready (had to wait 25 minutes past the availabilty time). The upgrade was a 'basement' room - no window and a very oppressive atmosphere with bad air conditioning. After initially being told there were no other rooms once I insisted we were moved - miraculously our original room was allocated. This room had a window - facing a brick wall, the sink didnt drain away and dispite reporting it wasnt fixed for 2 days. the bed was 3/4, definately too small if you're used to a king sized bed. None of the staff said 'hello'/smiled - something we have come to expect from Best Western staff, but sadly lacking here. On the plus, it was convenient for Earls Court Tube Station & the room was very well decorated.

Not bad
The room was nice but a bit too small, close to transit facilities, and loads of stores around. Great location if you plan on spending a lot of time in central London.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in!
Extremely small rooms (even by London standards). Very dark - not enough lightening. And most importantly - NO COLD WATER in the bathroom!!!

I could just be really picky......
As a review I read stated, "good for a quick overnight stay", I could not agree more! The room was very small and needed a little extra care ( holes in the window treatment, slow drain, a wee bit of mold in the corners of shower). It would have been fine for a one night stay. Additional aggravations: took 4 calls to the front desk to get the heat sorted out in the room. No wifi in the room, just traditional hook up(this would have been fine if i was not using my ipad) comforter smelled like smoke, and the darn iron was tethered to the ironing board (who does that?). It was just not a comfortable stay.

Location location location
Needed an overnight stay as we were attending Hammersmith Apollo for a concert. Excellent location for access via Earls Court tube. Ditto for link to Kings Cross. Room 412 fine for 1 night but a bit small for longer stay. part of a connecting suite that is normally let to families and the connecting door was not soundproofed which was somewhat annoying. Some rooms are in the semi basement area too and not so attractive so it is wise to call ahead and clarify your requirements 5 storeys and one rather slow and relatively small lift; still it meant one could get fit by using the stairs Beware at check in. make sure you say you require breakfast as if you don't and your rate excludes it, it will cost an additional £4 per person. Strange policy but you have been warned. Breakfast a little disorganised too with staff not too sure of their roles and table setting seemed to be somewhat challenging and haphazard. For a 4 star hotel this was not up to scratch.
