The rooms are decorated in olive greens and creamy beiges, and have contemporary furnishings and fitted carpets. All have air-conditioning, plasma-screen televisions with satellite channels, tea-and coffee-making facilities, and complimentary broadband internet access; complimentary WiFi internet access is also available throughout the hotel. If you fancy a quiet drink, head straight for the hotel's modern bar-and when it comes to dining, there's no shortage of restaurants nearby. Should you need them, the property also offers extensive business and conference facilities. The Best Western The Cromwell Hotel is located just a few minutes' walk from Gloucester Road tube station, from where you can easily get to most parts of London. New year escape

Location and Staff are perfect. rooms are clean but too small, the only worst thing in the hotel is WiFi not possible to connect in the rooms only in the Lobby but it is also poor.

Too expensive and terrible wifi

The hotel was very nice but the inconsistent wireless was annoying beyond imagination. It would disconnect frequently and when connected was very slow. This ultimately was frustrating enough to ruin what was otherwise an excellent hotel stay.

The staff was really friendly and helpful. We were able to walk to many attractions and the underground is right across the street. I would definitely stay there again!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the double decker bus which you pick up on Glouster Street - which is at the corner - it hits up all the major sites in London!

very small room

I stayed in an extremely small room on the 4th floor, but the elevator only goes to the 3th floor, so I had to drag my luggage up another flight of stairs. Make sure to request that you not have rooms on the top floor. I am 5'8" and I could touch the slanted ceiling with my hands. Room was very clean with modern shower and bathroom which is hard to find at times in London at this price range. Overall, good for the money and location but wouldn't go back. Also, large steps to climb in the front entrance with no ramp entrance. Not easy to do with luggage.

Perfect location

The hotel is nothing special, though probably above average size-wise for a European hotel. The location, however, can't be beat: easy access via the Underground or foot to everything you could want, but far enough removed that it's not overwhelmingly busy.

Reasonable with some reservations

Very good location, room small but comfortable and very quiet, staff friendly. Well supplied in-room cumplimentary tea tray, desirable as we chose not to pay extra for breakfast. Room rate somewhat overpriced, possibly because it was during the Olympics. Item that needs improvement: At the time of our visit (July 2012) the first couple of steps on stairs from the street had no handhold, so it was hard to go up or down with a weak knee or with luggage. If I were the manager I would address that right away.

Olympic stay

Nice, friendly and helpful staff. The room was very small, would be a tight fit for more than one person but the room was impressively clean. Check in was easy. Perfect location to the tube, about two minute walk along with a market and mall across the street. The free WiFi was random which made it difficult to do anything online but there is an Internet cafe around the corner near the post office. Overall, a very nice experience at this hotel.

Excellent service

We stayed here for 11 nights on our 10th anniversary trip to London and you can't get a much better location. It's located skipping distance from the Gloucester Road Tube station with a Waitrose Market across the street for anything you may have forgotten to pack. The service here was fantastic! Clean with good amenities and the free Wi-Fi was a huge plus. The room is small by American standards but comfortable and well-taken care of. The bathroom was nice and large too with a waterfall shower head and new fixtures. We are so glad we chose to stay here as opposed to anywhere further away as the tube fairs are cheapest in zone 1. Also, there were many nice restaurants nearby so we never went hungry. Great hotel!
