This is a highly recommended hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge, a hidden gem part of the small luxury hotels of the world(12/09 LP). This is a traditional building in keeping with the surrounding area. The Capital Hotel is right in the heart of Knightsbridge and within walking distance of Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Sloane Street, Hyde Park and The Royal Albert Hall which is one of the most recognizable buildings in London. The Royal Albert hall is probably most famous for holding the annual proms since 1941 Only 10 minutes walking from the hotel is the natural history museum, the science museum and the Victoria & Albert museum.

All the medium sized rooms are in excellent condition. They are designed with an emphasis on refined elegance. All are individually designed and the fabrics for many of the rooms were chosen from the Ralph Lauren collection, and each has its special charm and character. The beautiful marble bathrooms are medium in size.

Location is outstanding for anyone

Location is outstanding for anyone who wants to be next to Harrods and/or Knightsbridge Tube. Service would be better if less aloof. Cigar smoke annoying in tiny bar. Little known gem: full tea in delightful, peaceful little nook. Bedrooms well appointed but not for claustrophobes.
