Great location. Only 5 minutes walk from the Underground Station, and everything is nearby. Staff was wonderfully helpful. The place is a bit small but the room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

Adequate for our needs
Efficient friendly staff. Downstairs sofa bed not very comfortable and still had blankets. No duvet! Upstairs beds very comfortable and warm. Heat tended to disappear upstairs. Kitchen well-equipped but no socket for kettle in kitchen and had to hold switch down until it boiled.

Sleek, modern hotel in very convenient location
This hotel was an incredible value! The pros: newly renovated, stylish, very comfortable bed, nicely equipped kitchen, and the location was great - a short walk to the Gloucester Road tube stop, which connects to 3 lines. The cons: the young staff were not fluent in English, the phone in our room didn't work and it took a couple of days for them to fix it, our third-floor room was so warm that we had to keep the window open, even though it was in the 60's most of the time, and the hair dryer could only be plugged into the outlet in the kitchen, which did not have a mirror.

Awesome Europe trip
Upon check in, the lady staff was very accommodating. When we entered our room we were disappointed that we were not told a sleeper sofa was a part of the beds in the room. We were under the understanding we were going to get a double bed along with 2 single beds, in a loft style room, instead we were given a upstairs / downstairs room. When to the front desk, to see if we could do something , instead got a smirk kind of an attitude from the male staff. Did not look like they really cared about helping resolve the situation. I felt like we were not important. Nonetheless , rooms were clean and well maintained daily.

It was nearly perfect
I stayed at another hotel in south kensington in 2009 and it was dumpy but in a great location. I wanted to stay somewhere else this time and found reviews for Citadines Prestige in South Kensington. The reviews seemed mixed just like every other moderately priced hotel in the area but I read they've rennovated so I took a shot on them. It paid off big time. The lobby is nice and the people who work there were pleasant enough. I didn't have any trouble with them accepting my [...]booking which was a huge relief. They ask to see the credit card you used for the booking to make a copy of it which scared me a little but he smiled and explained they only need it incase I wreck the place or something and explained that they'd talk to me in person before they ever charged me for anything. It's understandable once you get into the room and see all the money to put into the place. I checked the balance on my card a few times during the trip and there were no problems at all. The hotel room was great and we had a wonderful view from our window of a relatively romantic looking backstreet where people park their fancy minicoopers and vespa motorcycles. There's an eloquent arched exit point at the end of this street and a tower that rises above everything else in the background. Everything in the hotel room (it was a studio/single type of room with two beds) looked brand new. The shower had a fancy glass door and the sink and toilet and floor were new. In the kitchen the microwave, refrigerator, sink, stovetop and floor all looked brand new. There was a tea/coffee maker, dishes, silverware and cookware. Nice flat screen tv in the bedroom area. Attractive looking paint style throughout the room. A work desk with chair and a small portable computer desk with a hip looking ikea style lounge seat. Nice beds with puffy white blankets and pillows. Brand new wood floor. Phone worked fine. Wifi worked fine. The room had a basic but trendy style, similar to ikea and everything I needed was present. There was a long rectangular picture of London on the wall, lots of lamps, some sweet ceiling/mood lights in the hall and kitchen and a brand new heater - a very nice looking one - with adjustable settings. Window was very nice looking, a little heavy but had handles, opened easily and had locks on it. Housekeeping seemed to come once every day or two for blankets, pillows, toilet paper etc and maybe every three days for a more detailed cleaning. It was hard to tell because I was very clean during my stay but they did come. You get one room key per person and after coming inside the room you pop a key into a slot on the wall which activates the electric which is sort of ideal because it saves electricy upon leaving and ensures that you don't burn the place down by leaving on the heater and it's easy enough to use anyway. All in all it was very decent for the money. Getting to the hotel: From Heathrow airport, get to the tube station underneathe it and take the picadilly line to gloucester rd. If you want the fanciness of London to hit you harder get off at the south kensington stop instead, which is right after the gloucester tube station, and take the short walk to cromwell rd. You'll see the huge natural History Museum on Cromwell rd. If you're directly facing the front of the natural history museum, turn your head left and walk in that direction down Cromwell rd., make a right onto gloucester and head up the road for a minute or two and you'll see the hotel on your right. From gloucester tube station, exit the building and head left, crossing over cromwell rd and proceed down gloucester rd until you see the hotel. South Kensington and Gloucester rd. tube stations are very close by. There's a wonderful Tesco store right across from the gloucester rd. tube station which sells all the food you'll need; sandwiches, snacks, juice, pastries, beer, toothpaste, fruit, premade pasta, etc. You can pick up an international phone card at the tesco for ten...

Good accommodations for the price
Great location in Kensington - very convenient to both the tube and the buses. The hotel is currently under renovation, but we were able to get a renovated rooms. They are still experiencing some glitches - for example, the phone in our room stopped working. But the staff did try to accommodate by letting us use a phone from a different room for outbound calls, and then switched us to a different room the next day. The staff is polite, and the new one bedrooms are spotless and well laid out - it's great to have a kitchenette in the room. Overall, we'd highly recommend it.

Location Beats Digs
The Citadines is located in a prime area. There are a myriad of pubs, restaurants, money exchange places and other amenities nearby. The Tube Station is close by as well. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful. We were in a studio, which was pretty cramped (compared to other studio hotel/apartments I've stayed at). The place was pretty clean, but not immaculate. However, staff does not clean apartment everyday unless you pay extra. I don't know if this is the norm because cleaning crew came everyday at another hotel/apartment I stayed at. Overall, not a bad place, but I thought place was a little pricey. Paying mainly for location. Then again, it is London where lodging is very expensive.

Sainsbury, a grocery chain, is only a few blocks away. You can stock up the fridge (albeit a small one)with some edibles (i.e. juice, water, bread) to save money on a few meals.

Great location
The Citadine hotel/apartment is in a great location. The rooms could definitely use some updating and could have been maintained better. The entire room was worn and tired. The kitchen was key for our family trip and thankfully adequate. The staff was friendly but not overly helpful.
