They gave me a bigger room; but the amenities were not as good; again, no phones in the hotel; it took me 3 days to find out none was connected..I price is not that bad but am disappointed.

It works
Hotel's location was a fifteen minute walk from Tower Bridge, but a decent location given the price. It was difficult to find the hotel because of where it was located and the directions are fairly vague, too.The bed and pillow was extremely uncomfortable which made it difficult to sleep. I would not stay here again but I do not regret staying here because the price was affordable.

Brick lane rules!!! great vintage shopping, great restaraunts, great nightlife, right next to 3 tube stations! When we booked a single we found that the room had 4 beds and a lounge area. Super hip area. Lots of young people, very international. I wont hesitate to stay here again.

Perfectly Good, Not Great Location
We enjoyed our stay very much, it provides ok value for the money. The neighborhood is a little dicey, but it's close to a Tube stop so it works out all right.

Sleepy
If you want a good night's sleep...
I would advise against staying at City Hotel of London on a Friday or Saturday night on the 1st floor next to the restaurant/lounge due to the annoyingly repetative "techno" music playing well into the early morning hours. And, also cheap mattress!!!

Good for the price
We had a two room suite for our family of four at a lower price than much more meager accommodations would have cost at most other hotels. Staff was friendly/helpful. Neighborhood is a little funky but safe with an active night life. Hotel entrance is just a few hundred feet from an underground entrance. Room was clean though some of the furniture was a little worn. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great hotel, even better restaurant.
We were a little leery when we first arrived at our hotel. The neighborhood seemed a little sketchy, especially with the empty, graffiti filled lot directly across the street that (based on observation) was clearly used as a drug haven. We also had a little difficulty locating the hotel, because Osborn Street was not obviously marked. However, the hotel itself was nice, clean, and the staff was excellent. They were very helpful in scheduling tours of London. The shining star of the hotel however, is the attached restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff very impressive. The manager really took care of us and I can honestly say that it felt like we were leaving a good friend when we checked out of the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel and restaurant, in spite of the sketchy location.

Basic level of service but a very
Basic level of service but a very good deal providing all the necessities. Location is convenient for an overnighter, just a few minutes walk from an underground station but not immediately close to anything much of interest. Immediate locality is good for Bangla Deshi restaurants, supermarket and banks, but greater variety of shopping available over near Liverpool Street station, which isn't so far away. Excellent value for the price
