Graeat hotel with a wonderful location!
This is a great full-service hotel, with a great location. The only negative is the room with twin beds. Those beds are far too small!

First London Visit
Exceeded our expectations. The Tara offers exceptional luxury with the help of an amazing staff. Special mention for Seema at check-in, Kinga at Breakfast in the club lounge, Doorman-[...], Conceirge-[...], Bartender-[...]. The Tara is walking distance to the Underground ( Tube), restaurants, shopping, and Kensington Gardens. From our room we enjoyed a spectacular view of downtowm London and the London Eye. I readily recommend the Tara to anyone visiting London. Best way to get around is with the Oyster Card which includes auto discounted fares.

great location!
This is a great locatin to tour London from. It is close to the High Street Kensington underground. The neighborhood is very safe for walking, especially when it gets dark so early. The staff is very helpful. The various tour buses will pick you up at the hotel. The rooms are just fine. They are a little dated, as our mattress was just a little lumpy. We had a little trouble with the heat the first night as we arrived in the middle of a bitter cold spell, but the room warmed up after that okay. There are no washclothes - bring your own. We were in a no smoking room, but sometimes did smell cigarette smoke faintly (from the hall ways?) The hotel restaurant food is delicious and you cannot beat the breakfast buffet. The Muffin Man teahouse down the street was also good for breakfast. There is a Whole Foods market around the corner that we used a lot. Area restuarant include Italian, India, and a couple of pubs. all good food and reasonable prices. We would stay there again.

so-so accomodations, but good service
The service is pleasant and friendly. We arrived to the hotel at 1:30 and were not scheduled to check until 4Pm but had no problems checking in early or getting a late checkout. Hotel is conveniently located, 2 blocks from subway station for the circle (central) line, walking distance from posh Notting Hill, Kensington Palace and only 10-15 subway stops away from main shopping/attractions. BUT the rooms are tiny, old decor, cracked/moldy bathroom tiles, dripping faucets, and dirty carpets. rooms are very cold, not well heated. overall good experience, but would have liked for the bathrooms to be cleaner/newer. there is a mini-fridge in the room, very convenient for long-term stays

We enjoyed to stay in this hotel
We enjoyed to stay in this hotel near High street Kensington. The room was remarkably large for London standards in this price range. Really nothing to complain, would come here again, if the price stays at the current level. Right now it is better price/quality then the Queensway or Notting Hill area, where I stayed more often in the past period.

Vacation Stay
Kensington High Street Tube was nearby. Quiet location. Nice room. Easy to get to various vacation sites. Did not eat in the hotel. Wish hotels did not charge for Internet service...did not offer wireless service in the rooms.
