Good Image, but overpriced for the service level
Location and proximity to things we wanted to visit was great...easy access on the Underground to just about everywhere. The hotel left something more to be desired. Simple things like no outlet to plug in a hairdryer in the bathroom (where there was a mirror), where there was an outlet...there was no mirror. Took several requests to get things or get things done. The staff desk staff didn't know about changing the thermostat or where the switch for the towel warmer was located. The clock just about worked and if the Bar 92 staff kept track of orders we wouldn't have left a half hour after ordering a wine and dessert one evening...and never getting it...and, hence, cancelling it.

Denise's Restaurant (French) across the street is terrific, as is The Diner at Bloomsbury right next door.

Impressive!
Being our first trip to London, and strictly going on reviews written/information, we were not totally sure what to expect from this hotel.....we were wonderfully pleased. The only surprise was that you have to pay 20 pounds per day for WiFi service. Being that we were trying to stay in the "vacation mode", this wasn't too big a disappointment, however, for many who need to be always connected, this might cause a stir upon arrival, as it is listed as part of the room amenities. Otherwise, the entire hotel, along with our room, was exceptionally clean. Our bed sported a very soft and fluffy white down comforter, which was resting on a comfortable mattress, topped off with an array of pillows. In the bathroom, hardy towels (on a heated rack) were on display. Our room windows faced the inner area of the hotel, hence, it was extremely quiet at night. Finally, the location (West End) was prefect.....we easily walked everywhere or caught the tube. Given the expensive nature of London, this was an outstanding deal. Without hesitation, we would highly recommend the Double Tree.

Great Location and Value for Money
Stayed here in Feb 2012 - hotel is newly refurbished so lobby, bar and restaurant are very nice. Room was reasonable size for London (deluxe double) and had nice bathroom. (We had issue with toilet but staff were quick to resolve and offered us a free breakfast to compensate for inconvenience). Great location for bus and tube. Staff helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

Watch out! if your deal includes breakfast they may not honour it!
Bought a night at the above hotel for my dads 60th birthday pressie. I Choose this particular hotel for the location and as the offer included breakfast. When my parents booked in on the night, they were told the breakfast was not included. Contacted the hotel direct to sort it out but the manager was unavailable to take the call. Very dissapointed with the hotels attitude and wont be booking with them again and will be very wary of any such offers on this site.

Wonderful service at the desk. We are very satisfied with everything. Extra bed for the third person, free; storage of our two big luggage before the Spain trip, free. Great location! The warm chocolate trip at check in was very welcoming.

Great hotel, decent price
all in all the hotel was very good. The reason we didn't give it a 5 star rating is the price was higher then some comparables (sold out because we booked late), didn't have a hair dryer - for $200 a night we expected a hair dryer - and the pillows were feathered and I got a couple uncomfortable pokes. On the positive side the location is great, right off the Holbrorn Underground station just north of the city. Internet access costs 16 pounds a day with decent speed. Staff was great and met every need. Hope this helps.

Excellent family hotel
We booked a one bedroom apartment for us and a child. Very comfortable with bedroom upstairs and sofa bed downstairs in unit. Small kitchen which was convenient. Hotel is renovated (formerly the Bonnington). Staff very friendly. Location is excellent for tube, buses and walking. Not cheap but would recommend especially if bringing children.
