Great Location for major sights

Actually, we spent very little time in the hotel. We selected it [...] because of its location. It offered us easy walking access to the things we were most interested in seeing. It was an easy walk to St James Park Buckingham Palace, Cabinet War Rooms, the Thames, Westminster Abbey. Close to relatives staying on St James Place. Couldn't have asked for better arrangement for our needs.

Great location, classy and clean!

The location can't be beat - on a small quiet street off of Piccadilly Street; very close to a subway line that runs directly to the terminals at Heathrow airport; walking distance to major attractions such as Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circus. Room was small (which I understand is typical of UK and European hotels) but it was impeccably clean and comfortable. Staff was polite and often very friendly. My only complaint is that the heating system never quite got the room warm enough to my liking (despite turning the thermometer up to the highest setting). I never brought this to the staff's attention as it wasn't that big of a deal and it may have just been the room I was in.

Nice Hotel

This hotel is all around nice. The room was a bit small, but I expected that in the heart of London. Despite it's size, it was well appointed, although the bathroom (tub/shower in particular) was a bit awkward. The location can't be beat--near to parks, tube, and shopping. The staff were nice.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Green park is a wonderful place to walk or run--quiet and lush. On the other side of Green Park is Buckingham Palace and St James Park--another gem.

Good Location

The air conditioning actually worked. On the other hand, the "single" room did have even one chair.

Reasonable

Pros: Solid hotel, comfy bed, bit dated and tatty around some edges, but generally good. Cons: Dodgy shower, alternating between extreme temps (may just have been our room). High price for internet use in an era when I don't recall when the last time I was charged for internet in a hotel was. Small closet - no problem for a couple of nights, but a week or so and you may struggle for space. For the same price Millenium Baileys which we stayed in last year is probably better, but this one is ok enough

Fantastic Location and Excellent Staff

I loved this hotel. I spent two weeks researching all the hotels in London, most of which I could not afford or they were too far away from central London. I chose Flemings because it was a no smoking hotel and was near Green Park. It was on a quiet street right off of Picadilly. It had first class service and the staff pulled out all the stops for my stay. I arrived early and they put my room on priority, so that I could check in earlier. They also stored my luggage in a secure location so that I could go out and explore London while I waited for my room to be ready. I loved the hominess of the hotel. It has an elevator that looks like you are in a libray, and the lobby is small, but cosy with nice personal touches. My room was on the third floor and was again very homey and cosy. It was on the back side of the hotel, so it was extrememly quiet. I had a super comfortable bed and every night I fell right to sleep. The concierge helped me to find Theatre tickets for the same night I arrived, so I was very happy to get a ticket on such short notice. I give this hotel a 5 Star rating! The staff gets a perfect TEN!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a Marks and Spencer grocers about two blocks away from the hotel. There is a bakery in the basement that has reasonbly priced muffins, and pastries. You can also order hot food to go. Upstairs there is produce and the usual beverages.I loved the fresh rhaspberries that have a label that indicates where they are grown and the grower's name on it. I found this to be the best breakfast in London.
