60th Birthday

Staff were great and the hotel was very nice. I had stayed there before and expected it to be good. Initially, we were put in a basement room which was dark (no view) and very hot! The hotel was nominaly full but staff arranged a better room which made it all worthwhile. They were very pleaseant about the whole thing too. If there had been no other room, it would have been much less pleasant. Perhaps insist on no basement rooms?

Low-cost, Great Locale

If you just need a place to sleep but have a great location close to the shopping in Kensington and chic Chelsea then this is a great find. The hotel is undergoing a much needed face-lift and the price was discounted accordingly. The room we had was brand new from a very recent face-lft. Be sure to get a room with a eastern exposure as we had one that faced west and was too hot, since their was no AC control for the room.

This is the best London hotel

This is the best London hotel I have stayed with using Hotelclub. The room was fabulous - large, full of character, high-ceilinged, great bed, wonderful pictures. The only downside was a tiny bath but, as I am finding, bathrooms in London hotels generally don't live up to the rest of the room. I will definitely try another Grange hotel in this chain. Within walking distance of the Tube, so great for getting around.

An interesting character hotel

An interesting character hotel with a nice feel about it.A bit crumbly and old fashioned with smallish rooms but I was quite happy with it really.Very nice staff and in a good handy position.

could be so much more

admittedly, the room was less than $100 but there's still a lot to be desired of this hotel. summary: a) great location close to a couple of tube stations on picadilly line and to kensington's attractions b) there's NO gym or fitness room c) hotel interior is dated and borderline down-trodden d) wireless in GBP 10 extra for 24 hours e) good staff f) building itself is stunning and, to reiterate, the location is quite special the problem with the hotel is that it could be so much more that it is. an historic building in a very desirable location with easy access to tube and local sights should deliver more... then again, it would probably cost a lot more than $100 if it did.
