Great hotel, central to London and right next door to the tube. Amenities can be pricey but just plan ahead and use the stores around the corner and you will be fine.

Hilton Hyde Park

Was not up to normal Hilton standards. For the location, was reasonably priced. Room near the elevator was very noisy - people walking by the room and talking

"Perfect for 1st time visitors"

This was our first visit to London and thanks to this hotel, it will not be the last. The hotel is conveniently location next door to the Queensway station. We took the Heathrow Connect, tube, bus, Eurostar and Gatwick Express during our stay - we never needed to hire a car or taxi which saved us alot of money. The hotel may not be up to the usual Hilton standard as it is an older hotel with less amenities. However the room was spacious enough for two (we had a twin room). The water pressure in the bathroom and shower was strong and we never ran out of hot water. There are wardrobes with drawers and also a small chest for clothing and a flat screen television. Our room (210) was actually on the 3rd floor and had an amazing view of Kensington Gardens. If you are sensitive to sound, you may not want to go with a garden room as traffic continues up and down the street at all times of the day and night. The only negatives I can think of are the room temperature which was difficult to regulate (it always seemed a bit warm in the room) and the cost of the internet. You would think the Hilton would provide free service for their guests - that was disappointing. The hotel did offer free breakfast if you were an honors member so if you decide to book here, be sure to sign up for the HH program. Unfortunately, we never made it to a breakfast so I am unable to offer an opinion about that service. Just around the corner from the hotel is a street full of souvenir shops, restaurants, pubs and such. There is even a bowling/ice skating rink. We found an amazing Mediterranean restaurant our first night and it was great to be able to have dinner so close to the hotel. We have already decided to return to London next year and will be definitely staying at Hilton Hyde Park.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

We took the tube everywhere. The Queensway station is literally next door to the hotel and the Bayswater Station is around the corner. Purchase an Oyster card and use it for the tube as well as the bus. We never took a taxi during our entire stay!

Paid for a delux room with large

Paid for a delux room with large opening windows and light and airy atmosphere, instead given a room where the windows were covered over so you couldnt see out as they were onto a industrial outlook of vents and pipes that were noisy too, we could see that out of the couple of inches the window would open! very poor but the staff were nice and it was very clean.

Great Location!

The hotel staff was great. Attentive and responsive. Rooms are small,as many are in Europe, with really small shower and bathroom. I am 6'6, and the, um...loo...was too close to the wall for me. Underground station was around the corner, a 20 second walk. Neat pub with on the next corner, across from Kennington Palace and the park. Safe, easy to get to from Paddington Train Station. Hotel missed a wake up call for us one morning and the manager called for a car and picked up the tab so we would not miss our scheduled pick up for the tour we had booked. Other than the size of the room a good experience overall for us. We did not eat in the dining room, but got appitizers in the bar. A bit pricy, but service and quality of food was ok.

The Underground is around to corner from the front door. You can get anywhere in the city cheaply, quickly and safely.
