I used to live just a five minute walk from this hotel ,so I know the area well.I pre-paid in advance and got a fantastic rate.the bus stop opposite the Hotel takes yo u right to Hammersmith Tube Station and you hop on the Picadilly line to Heathrow. It couldn't, be easier. The fantastic Westfield shopping mall is a very easy walk and offers a wealth of dining options also. The peace and tranquility of Holland Park is footsteps away as is the chaos of Portobello Road on a Saturday ! I'm mid 50's and and was comfortable walking to Chelsea,Hyde Park,Knightsbridge,Notting Hill,Shepherds Bush etc. from this hotel. The only point that was a distraction was the sound proofing of the windows was quite poor compared to new buildings.

Lovely Stay
After reading the review of the hotel before I left I wasn't expecting "a real Hilton hotel experience". This hotel went beyond my expectations. My room was perfect, no noise at all, amazing comfort and everything I needed. They staff were always on hand for anything you needed and I honestly didn't want to leave. Only downfall was the 15 min walk to the nearest station for the Piccadilly & District line Earl's Court. I sadly was leaving the day after the snow and dragging my two bags it took me 45 mins to get to the station. Other than that really enjoyed my stay.

Try to avoid this hotel if possible
If you are willing to upgrade your room by a 40 pounds fee, then you will be able to have an in-room safe, free internet (cost 15 pounds a day) and a bottle of complimentary water. I can't believe there is still a Hilton that have no in-room safe... The bed is not comfortable, the location is not so good (15 mins walk from Kensington High Street TUBE Station). If you choose to board the train at Olympics Station, there will just be 2-3 trains going there every hour.

Short walk from hotel
There is a launderette on 1 North End Parade. It is located on a street 3-4 blocks (10 mins) right on the main entrance.

We stayed one night in the Hilton
We stayed one night in the Hilton Olympia midweek and had a pleasant stay. The rooms are currently being renovated and we were given a newly decorated one on the 3rd floor (big improvement on old room decor from 2yrs ago). Room was generous size and nicely appointed. Usual amenities were provided including tea/coffee and hilton fridge. Lacking Free internet or wifi - even in lobby. Bathroom had been renovated too and shower was in bath, all very nice, however ceiling had been lowered and anyone over 6ft in height cannot stand under showerhead or even in bath! Room was quiet and clean. Didn't make use of restaurant or bar. Location is good with frequent bus connections just outside to many parts of city including direct bus to Paddington station. Will definately stay there again.

First time visitors to London
Great location and price
We spent three days in London (which definitely is NOT enough) before heading to Dover on a cruise. The hotel more than met our needs as we were busy sight seeing all day long and only needed somewhere to sleep and have breakfast (which was included in our price). Although the room was small, we definitely would consider staying here again. The room was clean and had a tub which was marvelous for soaking away sore muscles after a day of walking all over London.

Cheap but has many flasws
overall, you get what you pay for. the staff was short handed and the room is small. the location is not from shopping but far away from main sight-seeing locations. the room is small and the bathroom is not the cleanest. not a romantic hotel but will get the job done if you are a budget traveler and will not need access to your room (for short breaks or to change clothes) during the day.
