It all starts with an invitingly elegant brushed steel button by the front entrance. Press it, the automatic glass door opens and suddenly you're in a time tardis. Not at all what you anticipated. Not Edwardian, nor Victorian, as the exterior might suggest. No, not an aspidistra flying anywhere. Instead a cool, contemporary, considered interior, designed for today. Everywhere is clean lines, carefully chosen furnishings, natural materials, striking modern canvases and space to relax. Sure, its Ealing, but its a world away from what you'd expect from a local hotel in Londons suburbs. Yes, Hotel 55 is quite a number.
