Great location, small rooms
Pros: The concierge was very friendly and the hotel is in a great location, making everything very accessible for the first-time London visitor. A cab was ordered for us when we asked and the rooms were cleaned every day. Cons: The rooms were very small and the service left a little to be desired. The soap was not replaced in the bathroom, despite asking twice.

You get what you pay for.
For an pretty low rate, even by non-London standards, we got an adequate place to sleep, in a very convenient location, with a staff that was helpful and responsive. But, as you might expect, the room was small, there wasn't enough space to do anything but sleep (no place to sit, etc.), and there with issues with a running toilet and flickering lights. But, bottom line, for the money, I'ld stay there again.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
When exiting the Earl's Court tube station, don't go out the Earl's Court Street side, go out the other way, towards the Exhibition Hall. From that exit of the tube station, it is a short block and a half very direct walk, with a sign that allows you to find the hotel (around a corner) easily. Coming from the other direction, we had a tough time finding the place.

Basic but not bad
The staff was very helpful, but this is not the hotel for those looking for a place to spend a good deal of time in their room. The place is obviously aging, and it's in a very dense urban setting, with everything that goes with it. The room is very small, but a good sized bathroom (by UK standards) and everything worked, except my window which I couldn't close all the way. Overall, a good value, and I'll likely stay here again for business, but N.American visitors should expect a very tight fit in the room itself, it's just big enough for the bed, and that's just the way it is.

Short walk from hotel
Earl's Court road is just a few blocks through the residential neighborhood (exit the hotel, and head to your left)--lots of pubs and good people watching. For a real night out, jump on the tube, go one stop to Gloucester Road, and take your pick of excellent eateries.

Don't get stuck in the basement.
This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We were placed in the basement of the hotel. Nothing worked. The lights flickered, the T.V. didn't work, the toilet ran all night and carpet was worn and torn. After complaining they moved us the second night, but it certainly wasn't 3 star.

Good location near Earls Court
Good location near Earls Court tube station. The area is not fantastic, neither is the hotel, but it is a good cheap option for a short stay in London.

The staff were very unhelpful
The staff were very unhelpful and the facilities were dirty. The room was small, hardly a double as was claimed. The traffic noise was extremely loud and we could not close the window as the room was hot and stuffy. We asked for some form of fan but the staff again were, initially, not very helpful. The 'Continental' breakfast was a joke.
