Hyde Park Premier London Paddington Hotel

We had special tickets for the Albert Hall and just wanted a bed for the night to save a rush for the last train home. Have used Premier with no problems before but... We should have smelled a rat when we were 'upgraded'. We waited 15 minutes for someone to show us to our room which proved to be the basement of a terraced block at the end of the street. Incidentally, not the first block we were taken to. Having already descended narrow enclosed stairs in the first place we were taken further up the road and had to tackle similar stairs again. The room we eventually found ourselves in was small and dingy. There was a broken lampshade and shower taps - it all looked and felt very tired. Not even a plastic tooth tumbler provided. If this was an 'upgrade' then I am very glad we did not have the room as originally booked although that would have been in the main building and have had the benefit of visible hotel staff. Very disappointing indeed and to be avoided by us in future.

the location is ok, the room is small. But the bathroom was very small. the internet needs help both the plug in and the wifi. the staff was good. but I think they would be better in knowing the area better for shopping and entertainment.

It was close enough to Padington station so I booked based on reviews but it's probably one the worst hotels I've been to. It's not 4 starts, perhaps 2 1/2 or 3 but not 4. If you're frequent business traveler, you'll be dissapointed for sure. The rooms are so small you won't have room to put your luggage let alone your laptop...worst of all, the rooms are not that clean. My body was itchy every morning....yikes.

This was a very good hotel. We went to a West end show and it was right were we needed it to be. Of my past experiences of staying in hotels in europe, this was by far the best. We were up-rated to a club Room which was very nice. The hotel staff were very friendly, and I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. I would also love to stay there again.

Clean, small rooms but such a convenient location and they're reasonably well-equipped. Unfortunately this hotel advertises services they do not provide - most notably a minibar/fridge. If you complain and/or need to change rooms expect to wait several hours for a return phone call.

Terrible, terrible, terrible - very expensive, tiny rooms and I mean tiny, no hot water, not remote control for TV. What more can one say !!

The bathrooms were not cleaned properly. The bed was never made properly, as the sheets were not big enough for the bed and kept coming loose. For a four star hotel, there was no mini bar in the room, no restaurnat in the hotel, no fitness facilities. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from a tube station so really not centrally located. The staff attiude was the worst of the whole as they were unforendly, rude and not willing to listen or assist with anything. For the quality and service received the hotel was definitely over priced, definitely not value for money.

The single room was definitely a single but with a decent sized single bed. Couldn't swing the proverbial cat.... Modern en suite shower room with lovely hot water. Friendly staff. I cannot comment on dining/breakfast facilities as I did not use them. The reception safe turned out not to be a safe but things kept behind reception! I think a room safe would a great improvement. I would stay again, without valuables.

What a relief to find a hotel in a quiet and safe street only five minutes walk from Paddington Station, where the room was well fitted out, clean and large enough to swing the proverbial cat. It was lovely to be able to sleep with the french doors open and not to have traffic or other noise keeping us awake. Plenty of good places to eat nearby. I booked well in advance and got a good rate. I'll definitely look to use this hotel again.

good business hotel - round the block from paddington and hydepark so very convenient rooms a little small but fine for a quick trip to London
