London/Scotland with Teens

The location is perfect because it's just a short walk through the park to Buckingham Palace and all the government sites along the river. Just out the front door and up Piccadilly is the Hard Rock Cafe and plenty of shops and sites that interest teens. Except for cocktails in the lobby bar, we didn't use any of the dining options. My kids can be finicky and prices were too high to chance it. The hotel reminds me of other InterContinental properties (Chicago and New York Barclay) where I've stayed.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a walk along Piccadilly because there are shops worth visiting (Fortnum and Mason, Waterstones), but be sure to check out the unique and welcoming shops and eateries on the nearby streets in Mayfair, particularly on New Bond Street.
