For London on the cheap, this hotel does the trick. Room was VERY tiny, but all I needed was a bed... See full review

Good value for money

I travel on business for extended periods of time and keep on coming back to this hotel, as it is great value for money. The rooms vary quite a bit, so your experience will really depend on which room you end up staying in: some are spacious and quiet. Others are quite the opposite. However, in all of my stays, the rooms have always been clean and all came with a spacious bathroom (a rare occurence in London). The location of this hotel is fantastic: right next to a tube station (connected to two major lines), among plenty of shops and cafes, walking distance to museums and attractions. And in a very safe neighbourhood!

Pros & cons

The location of the hotel is very good, only a few minutes walk from Earl's Court underground station. The room was clean in general, although you could find some dirty spots if you looked more closely (I also found some hairs inside two of the towels). The staff was helpful overall, except to one lady at the reception that was a bit curt and also deliberately sent me 3 stops away from my destination when asked for directions. Lastly, wifi is available only at the reception.

It's a proper hotel!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this hotel, but it is 100% legit. There was a security doorman, a very nice front desk which always was staffed. Electric card locks and a deadbolt on the inside. I felt safe staying at this location even though it's only steps away from Earls Court Tube Station. On the same block there are tons of restaurants, take-aways, a grocery store and convenient stores. The hustle and bustle settles down at night. The hotel offered a full English Breakfast, which I didn't have time for each morning, but I'm sure it was the full trimmings. The room was tidy and had exactly what I needed. I booked a single. It was small quarters, but I didn't stay in the room more than to sleep anyway. The only caveat is that my room was smack against the back of the hotel and so from when I fell asleep to when I woke up I heard the Tube Trains going by. This wasn't too much of a problem as they had two-double paned glass windows, but if you're a super light sleeper this might be something to consider. (The line doesn't run 1am-5:30am I think it is.) But other than that, I enjoyed my stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Across the street was a very fancy and tasty Thai restaurant. It is sort of hidden down a short hall-way. Always busy for dinner! Very nice selection and great staff.

Petit

Very clean and staff very efficient. The only minus was the extraordinarily small rooms. I still don't understand why they took £30 payment on check in, as there is no bar and you don't get it back for 3 days??? Tip- If booking it ask for a room at the front.

Good Location, Good Price

It is an excellent value for your money: the hotel is locacted in a very nice neighbourhood, very close to the underground station that connects to the main touristic lines (such as Picadilly). The hotel room had been renovated - altough it is impressivelly small, the bathroom is new, and the room has a flat tv and nice lining bed and towels. I would stay again.

Small but well thought out accommodation

We stayed for one night - the room was very small but it was more than adequate for our needs - great location for the tube - we would return for another short break in London.

Not the best

Fine location but very small rooms, tired decor and not very clean. Our first room had a plumbing problem so smelt awful however staff managed to move us relatively soon. Rooms are very small and very simple. Not the cleanest but Fine for a simple 1 night stay if you're not looking for any luxuries

good service

Good location, helpful staff, friendly cleaning staff, in generally good service. Unfortunately offered a room with not working air-conditioner at the beginning (it was a hot day 32C in London), but with one word, swapped with a nicer room immediately. Telephone, computer, wifi, bus... all requests were fulfilled. Hotel wi-fi is available at the reception, but not in the room.
