Mercure London Paddington

This is indeed a very nice hotel - lots of bathroom amenities, bathrobes, slippers, etc., but my room was quite small even by European standards; I was by myself so this was no big deal, but I really doubt that two could stay. The hotel is litterally next door to Paddington, which I found great as I used its Heathrow Express to get to the airport, which is much less arduous than staying our near there and having to take the shuttles. And I used the Paddington Underground station to get around the city - very convienient. The hotel has a tiny bar which I found convenient. And it has a restaurant attached - I don't recall the name - but this was also helpful. But I got lots of eats right in Paddington, there is quie a variety.

The room was very small, but the hotel is right by Paddington station which was what I needed.

The hotel is located right next to the Peddington station. It is very convinent just to drop you luggage and start to explore London. The room size is small, a typical London hotel room, but it is clean and has a shower room. For less than $150 it is a great value.

This a nicely refurbished hotel with tasteful rooms, although slightly small. The hotel staff is excellent, and the location is perfect if you are arriving from or going to Heathrow by train, as the Heathrow express is a 5 minute walk. Our room was quiet, with almost no street noise. There is a small but very nicely equipped fitness center, which is surprising for a relatively small hotel. Overall, a very good value,

I went to hotel,and they told me no reservation and how orbits accept reservation and we have no rooms.after one hour they change me to hotel quality crown kenigston.

Although the room was small (which didn't bother us), it was very clean, and the location was fabulous being so close to the train and underground - perfect as we came in on an evening flight, and the airport train goes straight to Paddington. The staff were very helpful and friendly too. Would definitely recommend this hotel for people travelling on either business or pleasure, affordable and comfortable. We will stay here again on our next trip back.

Couldn't be a more convenient location right next door to Paddington station. Plenty of local activity, restaurants, etc but not too noisy. Well maintained, up to date, comfortable BUT.... ...the room stank of pipe tobacco! I immediately asked for a new room with no luck. All I got was a free can of spray to mask the smell. I sprayed all surfaces - walls, windows, ceiling, carpet but still had chest and sinus congestion and a raw throat the next morning. If I had had enough time, I would have moved to another hotel when they wouldn't give me a clean room.

Room was average and clean, but tiny - could barely fit our two suitcases and two carry on bags. Reception staff were not helpful and arrogant at times. Room wasn't ready at 2pm check in time but no offer of compensation or even an apology. We were told if we wanted our room early (even though it was after the check in time) we should book for the previous night to ensure we could have the room anytime that day! Would not recommend at all.

My mother, who is in her 80s, and I have taken several trips to London and always stayed at Bed and Breakfasts in the Paddington area. We wanted to upgrade to a chain hotel with elevators, so mom wouldn't have to carry luggage up staircases. We remembered seeing this place from our last trip and decided to try it. [...] This is not a place for tourists, but I'm sure it is fine for business people who just want to be close to the train station. We asked where to find a laundromat in walking distance and the front desk staff did not know and were not interested in helping us find one. I had to search online at the internet cafe across the street. Next time we will pay the higher rates at the Hilton and be comfortable and stay where there is a staff that is courteous and helpful for American tourists.

Great position for paddington station and tube. Pleasant rooms, nice condition with air con thats works. Slightly small but better than most at this price in Paddington. Would definately stay again.
