Large hotel with excellent location close to Underground (Gloucester Rd with many lines and easy access), Museums and commercial areas. Large room (for London) and two small lifts. Large lobby and bar/resturant, room service. Breakfast not included in price and rather expensive but lots of places serving cheep and adeqate breakfasts nearby.

Hotel was old but clean. I was

Hotel was old but clean. I was initially put in a smoking room as they reported not receiving my request for a non-smoking room. This was unbearable as the room is carpeted, with wallpaper and full of upholstered furniture and the stench of smoke was unescapable. They were unable to move me that night but did keep their word and moved me the following morning. Internet was overpriced.

Nice Hotel, close to attractions/tube

The hotel is very nice overall, the rooms were very "floral" but large. The A/C worked well. One of the larger standard rooms I have stayed in while in London.

Great location, great price

When we arrived the room was booked for 3 people when we needed 4. The hotel staff went to great lengths to accommodate us and we received an extremely nice upgraded room. Staff response could not have been better! Great location and price. Will definitely stay there again on our next visit to London.

This hotel was in a very good

This hotel was in a very good location being only 2 minutes walk from Glouscester Road tube station. The area was quiet with some nice restaurants and a tesco supermarket opposite the tube station if you just wanted to pick something up to have on the go. The staff were friendly and the concierge was extremely helpful. We wanted to take in a show and he gave us some good recomendations and also booked the tickets on line for us at discount price. Our hotel room was a good size -larger than i have come to expect from city hotels. The room itself was perfectly clean, beds comfortable, good sized en suite, etc. The decor was perhaps a little tired particularly in the corridors where it needed to be freshened up a bit. The listed price in the hotel was £210 per room and we paid €140 online. This didn't include breakfast which was £18 pp 'for all you can eat' buffet ,which we thought was a bit steep. I would stay here again if I was visiting London.

Never Again

No air-conditioning. [...]. Internet access was $65/day or hourly @ $25/hour. Forced to change rooms two times due to hotel decisions, not due to my choice. [...] Front desk bad-mouthed the discount provider I used. I have never experienced this in any domestic hotel, and have stayed in 100+ hotels stateside using different discount services. Had I not pre-paid for this hotel, I would have never completed check-in but would have gone to any one of the other 4 hotels within a one-block walk. All that was good about this hotel was the location. Restaurant and bar were way overpriced based on other facilities in the area.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Don't eat breakfast at hotel. Two pubs within a block, both have full English breakfast at a great buy. Two great bakeries with pastries if that is more to your liking, one less than a block, the other just over a block away. Paul's Bakery was great! Ate something there every day I was in London.

Missed Reservation - Volcanic Ash

Was not able to get to London due to flight cancellation from Volcano. Called hotel afterward to see if they would offer any "Goodwill Discount or alternate Stay" and they only offered one "Free Breakfast". We paid over $400 for 2-nights and that was the best they would do! Tells you what kind of people they are. The right thing to do would be offer an alternate stay when rooms are available or a discount on future booking. Based on their response I would never book with this hotel. We missed a night at a hotel in Oxford and they gave us a discounted rate for additional days when we needed to extend our stay.

NH Harrington Hall

We arrived and I had purchased a superior room for 3 adults, the first room keys would not work. I returned to the front desk and told the worker. He sent a person with me and he also could not get the door to open and left to get us another room. Our next room was for 2 people not 3 that I paid for. They brought in a cot for the 3rd bed, that is only an additional 25 pounds a night cost, verses the much higher rate I paid for the superior larger room. The second night it was very hot in the room, I called the desk and they sent up a maintence worker who said " Oh, you got the window open, thats good. He was very nice and had another person bring us a fan for the night. The room was clean, the people friendly, safe trendy location, can walk to underground and resturants. Of the 3 hotels I stayed in Brighton, Venice, this was most expensive and the most disappointing.
