Work needed on the breakfast, taking the breakfast away to early, angry people walking there... We had no ventilation in the bedroom, no windows

Overall disappointing
The guy at reception is pretty rude, the hotel is fairly grotty, the room is quite strange but clean enough. This hotel was okay value for money, we were looking for cheap accomodation near enough to the city and this is what this was. It is about a 15 minute walk to the train station which in fairness is pretty regular and about 20 minutes train ride to London Victoria. From there you have access to all of the tube lines and with the oyster card servicing both the trains and tubes it is very handy. If you are looking for comfort or even a somewhat nice hotel, I would not recommned this place though.

OK, Could Have Better Location
Overall the hotel was good. The room was spacious and clean. I had a single ensuite; everything in the bathroom was modern and properly working. For the price of approximately $50 a night, it is approximately on par with the small, inexpensive hotel rooms available in the U.S. I happened to have stayed while the hotel was under construction, so noise was a bit of a problem in the mornings; once construction is complete, I am confident the noise will subside. The staff were helpful enough (I didn't have much interaction with them apart from checkin). The included continental breakfast was very good. One word of warning: This hotel is not within walking distance of any tube station. The Westminster tube station is about a 25 minute bus ride away, off-peak (not including time waiting for the bus). The closest direct tube stop is Elephant and Castle, about 15 minutes away off-peak.

my experience with the hotel staff
The response by the staff to my request was slow and very frustrating. I told them my room heater was not working but nothing was done until i went back to lodge the same complaint about five times ! before some one came to fix it. This is not good enough.

Comfortable, clean hotel
The hotel is in the undergoing a big re-furbishment but that was no problem. My room was below ground and a long way from reception. Again, no great problem. The room was clean and big enough for me. The bed was comfortable. The shower cubicle was adequately-sized and the water more than hot enough. I paid for the biggest breakfast upgrade. If you're not young, fit and work out every day, don't bother. Although it was well-cooked and presented, it was far too large for me - two of everything: eggs, rashers, sausages, fried bread plus beans and mushrooms. The normal (none cooked, serve yourself cereals and toast with coffee or tea) breakfast is more than adequate. All in all, my stay was very good value for the money. I'd be happy to stay again. Signed: Two-night stopper.

Perfect for my student needs!
I stayed 7 nights at this hotel in room 309. I have nothing to complain regarding the reception desk, room cleanness and breakfast. Towels were replaced every day with clean ones. The staff was very friendly. Of course, it's a 2 star hotel and I didn't expect much from it at the beginning, but I enjoyed my stay and I will recommend it to anybody who is looking for cheap accommodation in London. The only bad thing is the location which is about 30min by bus from the city center, but buses take you from the door. Overall it was a good accommodation venue.

Never go
I experienced a horrible night at this hotel. It takes 2 hours to find the hotel from the airport with my car. I arrived at the hotel around 9 p.m. The front desk gave me a room which is under construction and the toillet and shower room are still with dust, paint, and dirty things. Another option they offered me is another room to be shared shower room and toillet with 3 other rooms. I cannot refuse their option. I don't have any choice because it was 9 p.m. and in London.[...]
