Needs soundproofing!

They put us in a basement room and then put teenagers all around us who proceeded to party all night. We got zero sleep with all their noise. When I asked for another room, they said they were "full." They agreed to keep our luggage before check-in, and after check-out and the "storage area" turned out to be in the lobby next to the front desk, completely unsecured. Every time we asked them for directions anywhere, no one knew, as if they were not from the area. The first front desk clerk was on her cell phone talking about "last night" when we were checking in. In summary, this place did not live up to its name at all.

Barely functional

Room smelled of cigarettes as staff smoking area directly outside window. Complementary hot drinks impossible to make as only plug socket in inaccessible place. Very noisy all night with loudly banging door in corridor outside room. It was however very cheap for central location.

Cheap, basic, convenient

Basic hotel in a quiet and convenient area. Tatty room, but basically clean. Excellent breakfast, good shower, clean sheets. A fair deal for the price. However there is one annoying procedure. On arrival, although the room has been paid for they insist on taking another £20 off a credit card saying that it will be refunded. When you check out they do not refund it, but say that it will eventually appear on the card statement as a £20 credit. I was not happy with this, particularly as there was some damage in the room prior to our occupancy which I am hoping I will not be charged for.

Just Passing Through

I was just staying here for a night on my way to Greece with a friend. It was a nice and cheap place to stay but I would have liked a more secure room to store my luggage in until my flight (which was later in the afternoon). I was very nervous just leaving my items in the lobby.

Acceptable for a short stay

I wasn't expecting the best at this price and for one night's stay such as ours this hotel was ideal. We were going to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall that evening and the hotel's location was fine for us - 20 minutes walk away. The room was very clean but small and not much storage space. A nice bath but didn't try the shower. The beds were comfortable but the pillows weren't. Breakfast wasn't a good experience. There were a lot of students staying and perhaps they all decided to eat at the same time but there was a shortage of crockery and cutlery so we ended up eating cold toast as we had to wait for clean knives to spread the butter and only water to drink because they'd run out of cups for tea and coffee.

Single Traveler

No air - open window only; stairs to lobby difficult; room small; shuttle only to airport with fee; fee for internet; no hair dryer. Breakfast okay; help friendly & helpful; easy walk to hop-on tour bus, shops and restaurants; felt safe when walking around but was in before dark. Would like help with door and steps to lobby, shuttle from airport both ways, free internet and air before telling a friend to go there.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Subway is called underground bus. I took the underground bus and a couple trains from Waterloo and Victoria Stations and did't have a problem with and without luggage in tow. Taxi drivers don't help with luggage unless you take too long getting your luggage in the car. I can see why they don't expect a tip. Taxis are expensive, London expensive in general. I used local markets for quick snacks, drinks, etc.
