Cheap for a reason
More monastery than B&B - for $80/night you'd expect more than a 5x12ft "cell". The 'wardens' were friendly. Tiny sink, tiny night-stand/"dresser", flat screen TV(!), and a single bed. Toilet, and shower (both shared) - shower offered both Cold, and Icy water. I think a monastery would have been nicer.

London transit's 7-day 'Oyster' card is the best deal going. Pick one up at Heathrow on your way into the country, and hop any bus or Underground train.

The Hotel staff were very friendly.
The Hotel staff were very friendly. I booked a single room, but because a double with en suite was available they offered that to me instead. The Queens Hotel is both clean and comfortable, I would definitely stay there again.

Positive thinker
look beyond the decor!
If you can get over the intial shock its ok! It is a beautiful building - stair case is lovely. Talk to the owners- they have only recently taken over. Yes, it needs decorating, its in the process of being refurbished. Bed had clean sheets, shower & toilet were clean, staff very ameniable, full English breakfast freshly cooked included. £40.00 per night 15 mins from City if your on a tight budget its fine. When its finished it will be wonderful

Do not stay here
We only booked to stay for one night thankfully. The reception was grotty wallpaper peeling and rickety stairs. The room was tiny and smelled of damp the window was broken so that it did not shut. The ceiling was caving in in one corner from water damage and there was a hole in the floor. My brother had a room next to us and his was just as bad. I read other reviews and thought it can't be that bad but it IS! Do not stay here it is not worth it our floor had not been hoovered in what looked like a couple of months and I really didn't want to sleep in the bed!

Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist in Ordnung. Die Sauberkeit ist für diesen Preis angemessen. Klasse Lage, nur wenige Gehminuten zur nächsten Tube-Station, oder Bushaltestelle.

Remarque hygiéne
Hôtel symphatique, bien situé à côté du métro. Côté confort moyen, pour la salle de bains trés sale, trace de moisissures au plafond, dans la douche et pas de pression au robinet et pomme de douche à moitié bouchée et idem dans la douche du couloir. Hygiéne douteuse au niveau des sanitaires (douche, lavabo et WC). Petit déjeuner agréable.

satisfaites!
Alors que nous avions lus des commentaires négatifs sur cet hôtel, nous fûmes surpris par la gentillesse du personnel, la chambre propre, simple certes, mais grande. Bémol sur la salle de bain, petite mais c'est souvent le cas...seviettes changées tous les jours. Petit déjeuner anglais, oeufs, bacon , saucisses , buffet avec confitures et céréales, jus d fruits, toasts à volonté. Pas le grand luxe, mais très bon rapport qualité-prix dans un quartier calme, avec pub et restos sympas!!
