The quintessential Covent Garden rendezvous, the newly transformed Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer Street effortlessly blends with the boutique appeal of its neighbourhood. A landmark in Seven Dials village, this is a chic retreat on the doorstep of London0s most celebrated theatres, its beautifully designed rooms equipped with next-generation technology. Fantastic location and service;

Perfect location. Staff is incredible. We got the package with breakfast, which was a lovely start to every day. Hotel was being refurbished so our rooms were newly decorated and we received a discount. That being said, our group stayed in three rooms for over a week, and we agreed the rooms are not suited for people staying for more than a few days. There were six permanent hangers in the closet and one drawer for clothing. No dresser and no drawers in bathroom or night stands. We understand European hotels are usually smaller than in the US, but the lack of storage space contributed to a feeling of cutter, even with minimal packers like us.

Location in the heart of covent garden

I used to live in London and knew this is a great location to all the places and locations in London. It has the most amazing coffee shop opposite -Monmouth-it's easy to covent, Leicester square, soho, walk to the river, trafalgar square ... The list goes on. It has a great bar and the staff is friendly....the only thing is that the gym is out of action just now.

Nice hotel, very central. Rooms average size for London, but have everything you need. The electronic minibar is a bit of a disappointment as you can't use the fridge for your own drinks should you wish to.

Great location

This hotel had a superb location, within walking distance of theatres, shopping and museums. Unfortunately, the rooms were small and cramped, and the thermostat was difficult to regulate. The breakfast buffet was fine. We've stayed in three other radisson's in the UK this year (Dublin, Edinburgh and another London location) and in comparison, this hotel was disappointing. The staff was nice, and there is free internet in the lobby (great for confirming flights).

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are so many theatres in the immediate area, it's easy to find restaurants that offer reasonable 2-course meals, and will get you to a 7:30 curtain. Be sure to make a reservation as they fill up fast.

Great location, nice staff

Went to London for a week. While the rooms were very cozy with not a lot of storage space, the location makes up for everything. Located two steps from Seven Dials makes it super easy to find when wandering around the West End. Easy to get to Covent Gardens and the tube station and a nice walk to just about anywhere. The concierge was helpful with calling and making reservations. We did most of the research into where we wanted to go, so we didn't use them for recommendations in the area. When we did (for restaurants), we weren't wowed. We didn't do the breakfast option as we found just wandering around and grabbing a bit at Pret or a coffee shop was a good day starter. Most of the other places we ate were found from wandering around SoHo or leaving the neighborhood. Some good ones - Tamarind (Indian), The Wosely, 32 Queen Street (Gastropub - game - close to hotel)... Great trip.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get an Oyster Card for the tube. We bought it at the tube station and put $20 on it and it worked for 3-4 days. It is heavily discounted on fares and makes it easy to jump on the tube or bus. One challenge - you can't recharge it with an American credit card at the kiosks.... I was told our cards don't have the microchips in them, so you have to stand in line or use cash.

One of the worst night's sleep ever

I was in room 125, a room carved out from a closet. Besides the size, I had to endure a loud mechanical buzzing noise which resounded each and every 240 seconds from 1 Am until 7:30 AM. I called reception 3 times during the night and was told they would look into the matter. Nothing changed. When I spoke to the staff at the desk in the morning, they told me to "make sure you write and let the manager know"... saying there was nothing they intended to do in order to take responsibility for the ordeal. Not a good experience, to say the least.
