Perfect location for theatreland
Just around the corner from Trafalgar square and Leicester square and 5 minutes to Piccadilly, this hotel provides the perfect location for a night out at the London theatre. The rooms are very quiet and comfortable and the staff are very efficient with a personal touch which enhances the stay. Breakfast was a real treat with an excellent selection of both hot and cold food well worth the cost. A free left ;luggage arrangement after check out on the final day allows an extra few hours sight seeing luggage free in Central London. The room was large, quiet and spotlessly clean with a very modern bathroom and free tea and coffee making facilities. The room was available through e bookers with a big discount which made it possible for us to stay at such a quality hotel. Without the discount we would not have afforded this luxury but it was well worth the fee for such a quality stay. Wish we had booked 2 nights.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
A tesco express shop in Trafalgar square allows you to purchase sandwiches, fruit and other food stuffs for a days sightseeing at lower prices than central London cafes. Also purchase small wine bottles and plastic glasses before entry to the theatre to have that interval drink without breaking the bank.

Great little hotel with a friendly staff in a convenient location
I stayed at the Royal Trafalgar on a last minute business trip. The hotel was conveniently located. Although I typically stay with Hilton and find their rooms large and comfortable, I wasn't bothered by the small size of the hotel rooms as they were very comfortable and incredibly clean. The staff was also very friendly and professional

If you've forgotten anything there's a two-story Boots drugstore around the corner with a small grocery area and all of the cosmetics and toiletries you could ever want. Also a Whole Foods and great coffee in the same area.

A Nice Stay In Central London
The Thistle Trafalgar is one of the best locations in London. I arrived early after an overnight flight, and while a room was not available for check-in, the staff did work with me to help get me into a room once one had been cleaned and serviced. Though no fault of the hotel, some of the guests can be loud, particularly in the wee hours of the morning when they are coming in from a late night out. To be so centrally located, the street noise was not really noticeable due to the fact that the hotel has solid double pane windows. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I found the staff helpful and friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable.

There are two small grocery markets nearby which have great deals on sandwiches and salads if one gets tired of eating in restaurants.

What a location
A hidden gem. The room we had was smallish but stylish and comfortable and with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Staff very welcoming and our only gripe was the breakfast as not everything available but apart from that - will definitely stay there again

Great location
The best thing about this hotel is its location- just around the corner from Trafalgar Sq. & The National Gallery. On the day I was to go home, I was able to run into the Nat. Gallery again and take a quick 20 min. run thru the priceless Impressionist galleries when it opened at 10AM. You'll not have many chances to look at Van Goghs and get on a trans-continental flight on the same day. Other than that, the hotel has recently gone thru an upgrade so it is all modern. The rooms are small but you're not going to spend much time in there at a hotel in the heart of the city.

Perfect
This hotel was wonderful. My room was perfect; the size and layout was great and the noise level amazingly low for being right in the middle of Central London steps from Trafalgar Square. The staff were so helpful and kind. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay here again most definitely.

If you are on a tight budget eat at Wetherspoons, as the restaurants are quite expensive in the tourist areas.

Ok, small rooms but nice for the price
Service staff tried hard to please after a couple of minor issues but the issues shouldn't have happen in the first place. Fine for the price I got it at, $120 usd.
