This is a hostel, NOT a hotel
This business is located in a lovely neighbourhood, that is pretty quiet and felt safe. But, to list this as a 'hotel' is a grave misstatement. There are none of the amenities that would classify it as a hotel, at all. There were no bathroom necessities provided, such as shampoo and conditioner. There was no hairdryer. There was no alarm clock. There was no restaurant. There was no concierge service to assist guests with finding their way around the city. There was no early check out option or even a secure key drop off. The staff were reasonably friendly, but in the main 'lounge', there was a random relative of theirs watching a movie and they were babysitting a younger child. The only things that resembled a hotel were the bed and the bathroom. The room was filthy, with the floors stained to a level I have never even seen in a hostel, and the bathroom floor was covered in long, black hairs. The sheets were clean, but even these were stained as well. The bed was reasonably comfortable, but it's difficult to relax in such an environment. Also, all the rooms are up a narrow, steep set of stairs, making luggage movement difficult. If you are looking for a reasonable hotel from which to venture around London, go elsewhere. If you want to overpay for a hostelling experience, then this 'hotel' is perfect.

Not really a 3 star hotel
This is a very basic, minimalist location. The room looked very dated and the bed was poor. On the positive side, the location was ok and the breakfast was good. Price compare to a 2 star in a similar location.

Location is it's best feature
We were very disappointed, we wouldn't recommend or stay there again. No lift. We were on the forth floor with luggage. No help or porters. No good for kids.

London Trip
The hotel is in a good location, not far from the subway and bus stations and walking distance from Westminster. The room was clean but very small. The breakfast was awesome, great job! However, the staff could be uncooperative at times.

OK for the price
You get what you pay for. The room was on the on the sixth floor with no lift so getting up and down was a drag. The bathroom sink has a big wad of hair in it when we checked in and generally didn't feel very clean. The area around the hotel had good restaurants and shopping within walking distance. Victoria Station was was a fair walk but definitely doable. From there, access to anywhere in London is easy on the tube. Breakfast, included with the room, was decent. If you're looking for a cheap place that is accessible to the tube, this isn't a bad choice. Just try to get a room on the lower floors.

Don't bother!!
We reached quite late at night (we had told them in advance) .. rang the bell for almost 15 minutes before the lady opened the door. Instead of her apologizing, we apologized profusely (she didn't even bother to acknowledge) - just gave us our keys (didn't even check our names) and pointed us to the room. The room was so-so. Breakfast was "included" in the rate - but she rudely told us to pay 5 pounds for each of us because "she did not know anything about the inclusion". Wonderful view from the room .. looking into someone else's apartment!! No elevators. Just overall bad service for the price we paid. I will talk to [...] to get my money back.

Bare bone basics
My wife and I spent two nights exploring London. We wanted a cheap hotel close to the sights and to transportation. The St. George's Victoria Hotel fit the bill. It's a pleasant 10-minute walk to Victoria Station. We also walked to Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, and as far as Covent Garden, but we like to walk. The rooms were very plain but clean. All we wanted was a bed, sink, and shower, so we were happy. We easily could have paid 5X for fancier hotels nearby. For us, the staff was helpful but we had low expectations considering the price. No frills whatsoever but great for the price.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Good pubs nearby were White Horse & Bower, Barley Mow, and St. George's Pub (great veggie sausages). Closer to Westminster Abbey was the Shepherd Neame restaurant where I ate the Spitfire Sausage dinner in the cellar restaurant. Very tasty.
