The best concierge in London
The daytime concierge did a wonderful job for us-from getting us a taxi ride to the airport on a holiday; providing time on the computer system and finding a catholic church. But most of all, he did so with great gusto showing someone who really cared. While all hotel staff treated us well.

Great Hotel
We really enjoyed our stay at The Cavendish. The location is excellent, with many great restaurants within 10 minutes walk. The theatres are very close too. The concierge was very helpful and friendly. The room was a little smaller than we were hoping for (probably just American tastes), but it did not impact our stay or make anything uncomfortable. Two underground stations are really close by.

Excellent, dont' think twice!
My wife and I are very fussy about where we stay. Cleanliness is most important and so is location and service. We stayed at the Cavendish for 5 nights and take my word, you will not find a cleaner, more spacious and ideal location in all of London. Our room was spotless, the location was unbelievable, within a few minutes walk to all major attractions and the staff at the hotel were just the greatest. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to my closest family and friends let alone strangers. You will not be disappointed.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you enjoy a nice pub, check out Chequers Pub which is literally a few steps from the hotel. Exit the side entrance (where the driveway is) and turn left on Duke St. The owner is hard working and it has a nice "happy hour" business crowd following work each day.

A wonderful experience!
The location was perfect, just a block off of Piccadilly and between Green Park and Piccadilly tube stations. The rooms were small but well appointed and the bathroom quite nice. Lobby was very sharp, very good breakfast each morning, and the staff were wonderful. I couldn't recommend the Cavendish more highly. We'll definitely be staying there again when we return.

Outstanding, friendly service!
Our family of 4 had 2 rooms at this stylish european hotel. A full English breakfast was included with the room. The restaurant was fabulous, the daily breakfast included a buffet as well as eggs cooked to order. The eggs benedict were superb. We enjoyed dinner twice at the hotel, once a pre-theatre special. Both meals were outstanding, I had a hard time convincing my family to eat anywhere else. However, when we did try other local restaurants we found the food and service to be excellent as well. One standout was the Al Duca Italian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel. The food was great and it provided a true contemporary Italian experience right in the heart of London. The Cavendish is very conveniently located just 3 blocks from Piccadilly Circus, but far enough away that you can avoid the Piccadilly noise and crowds. It is within easy walking distance to Trafalger Square and Buckingham palace. In typical London style the rooms were small but very comfortable. The quality of the materials used in the rooms was top notch. The rooms were also very quiet and the cleaning staff was very efficient. We would end each day in the first floor lounge where the restaurant manager would come to our table and greet us by name then chat with us about our day. This nice touch impressed my family and made us feel very comfortable there. My one complaint was the lack of reasonably price internet service. While you can get free wireless service in the lobby, if you want service in your room you will pay £20 pounds daily for the privilege, at the current exchange rate that is $32. In room service was wired only which doesn't help if you're using an iPhone or iPod touch. We just wanted to be able to plan our sightseeing days and having to do it in the lobby was very inconvenient. The only other problems we ran into on this trip were the fault of Orbitz. When I setup the reservations I had to call Orbitz in order to specify two different room types, one queen and one with two singles. To satisfy this request Orbitz created two different travel itineraries. The first problem was that Orbitz combined our middle name and last name on all of our airline tickets. We had to show up at the airport early to correct the problem with the airlines so as not to create confusion with the passports. Then when we arrived at the hotel they had both reservations but Orbitz had actually booked the same room types so we had two rooms with queen beds. The hotel was able to correct the situation on our second night. Next time I will call the hotel and airlines directly to book my trip. If you can live with the internet service issue then I would highly recommend the Cavendish.

The Pret Manger sandwich shops can be found all around London and provide very high quality, delicious foods for lunch at very reasonable prices. After discovering Pret the second day of our trip, it was the only place we ate for lunch.

Fantastic location
My girlfriend and I spent 4 nights in the Cavendish and loved it. On our arrival we were offered an upgraded room at a reduced rate, which had a fantastic view of the city. The hotel is about a 2 minute walk from Piccadilly Circus. In fact, the hotel is within walking distance of most attractions and many theatres. We only had breakfast in the hotel which had a very good selection. Also, there was no extra charge for room service for breakfast. The only thing that was a little dissapointing was that there was a fire alarm at 5.30am. Nothing serious- someone had hit off a break glass system. The dissapointing thing was that there was no proper apology for it.

Terrific time in London
The location of the Cavendish was superb. The staff helpful. The trip was a 15th Birthday gift to my granddaughter, with an emphasis on British history. Highlights: Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, seeing Jude Law play Hamlet, Oxford, Stratford. What a great trip..only drawbacks: very costly, too much rain, and we avoided the underground because of flu warnings. One week is not enough to do everything.
