This hotel was our first stop in the UK, and everything was great from the friendly staff to the delicious afternoon tea, the bar that stayed open late, and the free wifi. No complaints!

Straightforward luxury
We enjoyed a pleasant stay for one night. Helpful staff worked to accommodate an early check-in. Room was small but luxurious, free wifi was a bonus (ask at reception for username/password). Honest & helpful staff – my wife left her purse containing cash in the bedside table. One call confirmed it had been located & placed in the hotel safe for pickup later.

Loved it
The hotel is first class and the restaurant was great- friendly people. We loved the location- central to everything. We walked every where. I would go back again but ask for a different room if we got the "study room" too narrow and no room.

Terrific hotel in a perfect location
We have stayed at the Chesterfield Mayfair several times, and it remains one of our firm favorites whenever we escape for a week in London. The hotel's management keeps high standards, and the staff is unfailingly helpful and kind, while the rooms are attractively decorated (yes, a bit small by US hotel standards, but not too scrunched up). The location is quiet yet central, and is within easy walking distance of such necessities as Starbucks, Pret a Manger, the Green Park tube station, Piccadilly Circus and many outstanding restaurants. The Chesterfield's bathrooms appear to have been recently renovated, resulting in, amongst other attractive new fittings, a fabulous Australian drench showerhead with perfect water temperature and pressure. We felt very pampered under its welcome flow after long days of sightseeing and shopping. The Chesterfield's restaurant was also superb, with outstanding food, service and wine selections. We have never had a bad meal there. The ground floor bar is also an appealing place for a drink, a bite or just a quick coffee. We could not recommend this hotel more warmly for its price, calibre and neighborhood - you get what you pay for, and it's most worthwhile.

Short walk from hotel
The Wolesley Restaurant on Piccadilly is less than a 10-minute walk from the Chesterfield Mayfair, and offers delightful brasserie fare from early morning to late at night in a luxurious setting. Though pricey, it's a great way to start or end your day.

Convenient and Posh Location
The hotel is in a great location. It is about a 5 minute walk to the Green Park tube, and within walking distance to Buckingham Palace, and other sites. Many great restaurants and pubs nearby. The breakfast prices were a bit high, but there are many choices available on Picadilly. Situated in a very posh and quiet neighborhood. The staff was very friendly without being intrusive. I want to give them 5 stars but morning newspaper was not delivered as promise and I had to remind the front desk twice. Otherwise, we had a great stay and will most likely stay here again.

Many great cuisine choices at Shepherds Market: Indian, Lebanese, Italian, Pub Grub, and even Polish-Mexican (husband was not adventurous enough to try it).

Great hotel, good location
We were very pleased with the hotel and room. It was their standard room but very nice although small compare to US hotels of similar quality (we understand this is typical). The only problem we had was with the air conditioning which worked fine the first few days but on the 4th night the room was getting warm even though the air conditioning was set to it lowest (19C). They were not able to fix the AC for our last night but we were given a fan which helped a lot. Other than the AC everything else was great. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast seemed a little too expensive (22 pounds) so we ate at other local cafes. Buckingham Palace was about a mile away but it was a very nice walk through Green Park. Big Ben and the Churchhill war museum were about another half mile away but still the walk was pleasant through the St James park.

Inability to honor commitment
Although we had made reservations on Orbitz weeks in advance when we arrived at the hotel after a long days journey we were told there were no rooms left. We were given a room at a nearby hotel. So the moral of the story here is just because you book a room on Orbitz at this hotel, don't think you will actually stay here.

Much more than fair in Mayfair!
London for 6 nights in June 2009. Wonderful small hotel. Although we are regular travelers, we have NEVER experienced such a friendly and helpful staff. Full breakfast was included with our price (to our surpise and we took full advantage..Scottish eggs benedict and poached eggs with bubble & squeak (go and find out for yourself). Every evening we'd come back tired and relax in the wonderful hotel bar with champagne and cocktails. The afternoon tea looked wonderful although we never had room for it. 2 blocks from Berkely square, 4 short blocks to Green Park metro stop. Wonderful Indian restaurant just around the corner. 2 great pubs within 2 blocks full of locals in business attire having pints. Helpful concierge got us reservations whenever we asked (and volunteered many others). We'll defintely go back. It's our new favorite in London.

Classic refinement in Mayfair
We booked this hotel at the very last minute and were extremely pleased with location, room and service. The rooms were impeccable and the staff were extremely professional and helpful. We asked to change our room because we preferred a single mattress to two pushed together, and every effort was made to accommodate us. The hotel is located within walking distance to some of London's most extraordinary restaurants, and the hotel concierge was very helpful securing difficult reservations. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the shower: great pressure, lots of hot water, but not much of a barrier between the bath and the rest of the room, so there was water everywhere.
