Great West End location for London theatre
Consistently cooperative staff make stays enjoyable. Lots of convenient, nearby restaurants (the hotel's restaurant is not good value for money). The location is ideal for going to the theatre in the West End, and for getting to/from Heathrow by tube.

Disgruntled in the East Midlands
Good, but not that good.
The location is good for the British Museum, and a 5 minute walk to 2 tube stations gives fast access to all the main central attractions. This was our third and probably last visit to this hotel, every time it has been absolutely roasting day and night in the hotel regardless of the outside temperature - perhaps because all the lights are on all the time. This means you have to have the windows open as there is no air-con. Because of this, avoid the lower ground floor, if they say you're down there when you check-in then ask to be moved immediately. Room 9 for example is downstairs, next to the staff entrance door, and right next to the street. Because it's so hot we left the curtains open to be greeted by a super bright security light illuminating the room all night. This combined with the street noise, the feeling that anyone could see in from above and the staff entrance meant no sleep the first night. We were moved the next day but to a front facing room, so even though you're above the street, I recommend earplugs from Boots down the road on Kingsway. One year we had a second floor room facing the park behind the hotel and though still really hot, it was a good room. £17 for a continental breakfast or £25 for a cooked one is obscene frankly, so we went to Pret or Starbucks or any of the little cafes round the area for a quarter that price. I'd love to recommend the hotel but 2 out of 3 visits have not been as expected for us and we won't go again. It's a shame as the location for their room price is good. It certainly isn't a 4 star hotel, no more than 3 at a push.

Great. Arrived to discover they
Great. Arrived to discover they had upgraded me to an executive room. Bit strange to be in the basement, next to the street. But still quiet enought. Big room and huge bathroom.

Douche
