Jedes Mal eine Überraschung
Dies war mein 4. Aufenthalt im Cumberland Hotel und wahrscheinlich nun der letzte. Dieses Mal hatten wir mit Abstand das schlechteste Zimmer. Eng, kalt mit Aussicht ins gegenüberliegende Zimmer. Man konnte nicht einmal eruieren, welches Wetter man hatte, da man den Himmel nicht sehen konnte. Trotz Intervention und dem Angebot, dass wir gerne bereit sind einen Aufpreis zu bezahlen, konnten wir kein anständiges Zimmer erhalten. Schade!

Das Hotel war sehr gut. Unser Zimmer war im Nebengebäude, relativ gross, auch das Badezimmer. Das Pay TV hatte seine Tücken, es funktionierte teilweise nicht und musste von der Rezeption immer wieder neu aufgeschaltet werden. Sehr wenig Wasserdruck in der Dusche. Sehr Nahe an der Metrostation (2-3 Minuten). Freundliches Personal.

Hyvä, siisti perushotelli Lontoossa. Iso hotelli, joten aamiais huone oli täynnä työmatkustajia. Helppo hypätä metroon, asema lähellä.

Sofort wieder
Das Hotel war sehr schön und hat all unseren Ansprüchen entsprochen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und es wurde gleich Hilfe mit den Koffern angeboten. Das Zimmer war ordentlich und groß, allerdings war die Dusche sehr komisch und man ist immer zuerst mit kalten Wasser nass gemacht worden. Das war das einzigste Manko. Insgesamt kann man dieses Hotel nur weiterempfehlen.

Das Hotel ist unmittelbar an der OxfordStreet. Gut mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel vom Flughafen erreichbar. sehr schöner Eingang, sehr freundlichs Personal, Zimmer sauber.

Sehr gute Lage, sehr lautes und unsauberes Zimmer
Positiv: direkt an der Oxford Street gelegen Empfangsbereich Personal Negativ: Hatten leider ein Zimmer zum Innenhof gelegen. Da im Innenhof die Lüftungsmaschine einen Riesenkrach macht und die Fenster sehr schlecht sind, ist nicht wirklich an einen erholsamen Schlaf zu denken. Meine Frau stopfte sich in der zweiten Nacht Ohrenstöpsel rein um wenigstens einigermassen schlafen zu können. In der CH sind diese Zimmer nicht Mal 2 Sterne wert!

Mooie kamer, goede ligging
Dit was de derde keer dat wij naar Londen gingen. De eerste twee keer was gekozen voor een budget hotel. Dat merk je in Londen, want de hotelkamer is dan doorgaans zéér klein. Omdat we nu wat meer luxe wilden hebben we voor dit hotel gekozen met een kamerupgrade naar een executive kamer. Bij het hotel aangekomen werden we geholpen door een medewerker van guest relations die vloeiend Nederlands sprak. Een grote plus dus. De kamer was netjes, modern ingericht en zeer ruim. Andere pluspunten: - De centrale ligging, pal tegenover het Marble Arch monument en naast de grootste winkelstraat van Londen. Verder liggen er op 1 minuut lopen een grote supermarkt, apotheek en Odeon bioscoop. - Onder het hotel zit een leuke club (Carbon) waar je als hotelgast gratis naar binnen kunt via de hotelkelder. - Dankzij de executive kamer upgrade hadden we gratis internettoegang (via de televisie en een draadloos toetsenbord) en konden we gratis de films op het entertainment systeem bekijken. -Het was geen enkel punt en geheel gratis om bij de concierge achter de pc online in te checken en de boarding passes uit te printen voor de terugreis met het vliegtuig. - Bij de concierge kun je kosteloos om een European power adapter vragen, zodat je electronische apparatuur uit NL ook daar kunt aansluiten op het stopcontact.

Vlakbij Trafalgar Square zit een Italiaans restaurant dat Prezzo heet (zitten er overigens meer in Londen, maar dit vonden wij een hele goede, zowel qua service, kwaliteit en inrichting) en waar je heel lekker en voor een redelijke prijs kunt eten.

Drama, dit hotel heeft niets te
Drama, dit hotel heeft niets te maken met 4 of 5 sterren maar is een matig 3 sterren hotel met een toplokatie (als je van drukte houdt) Ik begon in een standaard kamer en kreeg na mijn klacht een executive room, deze was groter maar kwaliteit van meubels en status van vloerbedekking was ook zeer onder de maat! bakamers waren wel in orde al lijkt me een bad wel op zijn plaats voor €160 per nacht (sowieso in een executive kamer lijkt me dat niet meer dan een standaard!) Ik had al een lange dag en reis achter de boeg waardoor ik geen energie meer had om naar een ander hotel te gaan. In de ochtend helft van mijn geld terug gekregen voor deze slechte nacht en naar een ander hotel gegaan. Toch nog lekker kunnen slapen en een heerlijke twee dagen in Londen gehad!
