The Hempel Rooms
- Superior
- Individually designed bedrooms with minimalistic and Japanese feel. Our bedrooms face both our Zen Garden and neighbouring typical London townhouses. All rooms have plenty of natural daylight and the major colour schemes are black and white or beige and white. Decor is minimal but luxurious, with mostly soft furniture using natural fabrics. The layout of each room is unique but always allows for privacy and comfort.
- Deluxe
- Deluxe bedrooms are slightly larger than our Superior bedrooms. The decor and design is the same minimalistic Japanese feel throughout. Some Deluxe bedrooms do have king size beds in them and a little seating area within the bedroom as an added feature. Some of our rooms face our Zen Garden others our neighbouring buildings. Our Deluxe bedrooms can also accommodate an extra bed for a child up to the age of 13 years at a daily supplement of 40.00 excluding VAT.

upscale hotel in sea of cheapies
rainy and cool for summer, lovely hotel but actually poorly sound-proofed in rooms (can hear noise in halls ways - other doors opening/closing, knocking), nice serene garden to relax in the morning, restaurant stops serving breakfast early (for us) - 10AM!, no ice machines as they want you to use minibar/room service

Lovely one night stay
I only stayed one night at the Hempel, and it was an enjoyable stay. I mostly needed a nice place to sleep that had internet - it has a lovely ambiance, and the wireless was complimentary, which was a real treat for such a nice hotel.

Disappointing overall
Our package was supposed to include chocolate strawberries upon check in, but they never showed up. I called the desk and they apologized and said to call when we wanted them at a later time. I called a couple days later and the front desk employee asked me to come down to show my reservation indicating the strawberries were included. I eventually received them, but the hotel tried to charge me for them at checkout. I again had to show my paperwork. The room was very modern, but not in the best condition. [...] The toilet was difficult to flush and we had to finesse it every time. The heater did not work, so they had to bring an electric radiator in. White dust and particles were constantly on my clothes in one of the closets from a crack at the top. Every time I closed the closet door, debris fell out of the crack and onto my clothes. One night we came back to the hotel around midnight and we could hear music going from a party downstairs in one of the restaurants until we fell asleep. The overall condition of the room and furniture just was not what I expected. Also, the hotel is in an area that is really surrounded by other hotels and not as attractive as other areas. I have been to london many times and will not stay here again.

Very good
An excellent location, friendly staff, very peaceful and quite. worth the money spent. VERY clean. The only downside I find is that the room is not extremely well maintained. may become an issue in a few years.

Cool hotel, but some irritating flaws
Cool hotel in a nice neighborhood location. Room 401 seems to be at a location where you can hear way too much noise from the hall including unbelievably loud doors slamming. Kept me up very late one night.
