Very Pleased!

As a family of 4, we reserved two rooms at the Kensington Hotel. Overall, we were very pleased with our 4 night stay at this boutique-style hotel. The location of the hotel and friendly staff (especially [...]) were benefits. The close proximity of the South Kensington underground station and numerous neighborhood restaurants are worth noting when comparing to other hotels. The rooms were of adequate size and overall appointments when comparing to more expensive hotels. For those who appreciate a smaller and more personal boutique hotel, we highly recommend this hotel!

Great place to stay

Great location, about 4 blocks away from the South Kensington tube stop so very convenient if you take the Picadilly line from the Heathrow terminals. Checked in right away even when arriving in the morning from my NY flight. Clean room w/ impecable bathroom; room kept up daily and turn down service every night appreciated. There is a water heater to make coffee or tea. Standard amenities for toiletries.

Time-saving tip: Not Applicable

If there for several days buy an Oyster card in the airport to get around without any limits on the tube/buses. Also I bought a tour for Bath/ Salisbury and Stonehenge which was fabulous, it was very nice to spend one day out of the city and being driven around

London Visit

Traveling on business. The hotel was excellent. It is located in a very upscale area of London. Buckingham Palace is around 30 minute walk from the hotel. The Underground is also very close by if you don't want to walk. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful in recommending local restaurants and sites. All recommendations were excellent. Can't wait to go back for leisure.

Warm, inviting, and glorious!

This was my first trip to London-not to mention by myself. It was also during the week of the Royal Wedding. The location was perfect. It was far away from the frenzy but also very accessible to the underground. Located in South Kensington, near very quaint neighborhood shops and restaurants it is only a 5 minute walk from the South Kensington station. When I first arrived up to the day I left the service was impeccable. The hotel room was a standard with queen non-smoking. It was clean, modern, and homey. The bathroom was perfect. Modern, clean and i believe even heated tiles so your feet aren't cold on the slate! A nice touch each evening -housekeeping would leave treats with the weather information for the next day. Only downfall is the breakfast is a bit expensive of 15 lbs for what they provide, however, it is very convenient. There are plenty of places nearby to eat at.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

If you are looking for small town feel "boutique" shopping go to Carnaby St. If you are looking for more department like store or big name brand stores of UK/US go to Regent St. Regent St. also gave me the "aw" factor with its level of patriotism. Looked like thousands of flags hanging from lines above the street. Makes a great photo. Also, if you go to Regent St. check out Liberty.
