Perfect Location in London
The Mandeville Hotel, just a short distance from Paddington Station, was a fantastic place to stay on my recent trip to London. The hotel was clean, the room was a nicely decorated and of typical size for Europe, the staff were friendly (though the concierge wasn't particularly helpful), and the location as great. It is about a 5 minute walk to the Underground (Bond Street stop) which enables one to get to most points within the city with at most 1 subway transfer. The hotel itself is setback about a block from Oxford Street and on a residential street, which was nice because there was very little street noise. It was also adjacent to St. Christophers Square which had multiple restaurants, pubs, and cafes. For those who like to go out at night, the hotel is about 2 Underground stops (same line) to SoHo/West End where there are many nightspots and theaters. Overall, the Mandeville is a great option for a vacation to London.

nice
The Mandeville focuses on style and decoration. As a result the comfort of their rooms are not geared toward practicalities. There are so many amenities and little placards that it's hard to find a surface to sit your own things. A decent size desk/table/surface was sorely lacking from my room. That being said, the room was charmingly decorated and very clean. The staff was always helpful eager to be of assistance.

Great location with a Queen size bed
Location has excellent dining and pub options in nearby St. Christopher's Place. Room had Queen size bed. Free in-room safe. Supposedly good size room for London. If you are an I Prefer member, you get free internet. Water pressure and temperature contol in shower was great, but it's impossible to not flood the bathroom with only half of the shower enclosed. Towels are large and super thick. Gilchrist & Soames toiletries, shoe mitt, vanity pack, and sewing kit. Lack of in-room coffee maker is also inconvenient. They seem to want you to need to use room service or be inconvenienced. Fortunately, Starbucks and other options are nearby. Only 3 short blocks from the Bond Street tube station and Oxford Street shopping.

The No. 10 hotel in London
We actually stayed at the No. 10 hotel around the corner as the mandeville was overbooked and we didn't find out until we arrived at the Mandeville Hotel. It wasn't as nice as the Mandeville hotel inside and the rooms were very small, but the location was still nice and it turned out OK.

The Punjab Indian restaurant in Covent garden on Neal street was recommended by someone in the lobby of the hotel and it was very authentic Indian cuisine and in a great theater district.

Mandeville Hotel
Everything was fine, except that the single room was so small that one could not do anything in it but sleep. There is no room even for a small desk and chair. I had room service one night because I got in very late, I was starved and there was nowhere to stop for a bite. When they brought the tray, I had no choice but to eat on the floor. Otherwise the staff was helpful, it was clean, and the bathroom was well-appointed.

London June 2011
Easy access to the tube -- a block away. With access to the tube and an Oyster card, we were able to get to all the sights around London that we wanted. And the Oyster card works on buses as well. Marylebone High Street was just a block away, with cafes, shops and restaurants. Often better than the crazy busy Oxford street, which is also just a block away. Easy to get to the food halls of Marks and Spencers or Selfridges for a quick triangle sandwich for lunch on the go. There is no question that the rooms in the tower are small, but they are well appointed and for us they were more or less to sleep in. Staff were all very helpful and easy to work with.

Great Location and Neighborhood
The Mandeville was a terrific value. Great central location, easy access to Underground trains via Bond Street station. Cozy street and neighborhood with coffee shops and neighborhood-type restaurants. Hotel lobby has free Wi-Fi (pay for room WiFi) and helpful concierge. Room is small but sufficient; clean; large window with good light. We will stay here again.

Terrffic Hotel/Price & Location
I was visiting London with my 8 year-old daughter....execellent location, staff was awesome. Room was a little small, but it was fine. Right off the main shopping area on Oxford Street with great boutiques, restaurants and Selfridges down the street, close to underground and bus line, and close to NW corner of Hyde Park.
