Disappointed.

My reservation was for a regular room, I was given a handicapped room which I did not need, and could of been used by someone in need of these services. I would not use this over priced and over rated hotel ever again. Cheerio

Location was Amazing!

I relied on prior reviews when selecting this hotel, and I have to say that the reviews were right on the mark. This was a wonderful hotel, even if the room was a bit small for me and the use of the hotel room card to operate the lights left something to be desired. The location is near lots of places to eat along with nearby Tube stops made it ideal in every way.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Because of the price of room service, I suggest eating out as much as possible. There are a lot of amazing places nearby to eat, like Paul's if you like French cuisine.

nice

The Mandeville focuses on style and decoration. As a result the comfort of their rooms are not geared toward practicalities. There are so many amenities and little placards that it's hard to find a surface to sit your own things. A decent size desk/table/surface was sorely lacking from my room. That being said, the room was charmingly decorated and very clean. The staff was always helpful eager to be of assistance.

Fabulous location, chic and trendy

I was in London for business by day but the hotel was so close to all shops and venues that by night I was able to cram some shopping and sightseeing in as well. Lovely hotel although a bit small compared to the rooms in the states but quaint nonetheless.

Quite Nice

Tbis is a very nice, smallish boutique hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location! My room was small and overlooked a back alley-- there was construction going on so it was quite noisy in the early AM. My traveling companion had a quieter room. Would probably come back.

Feb 2011 stay

[...] The helpfulness of the hotel staff is spotty. I asked the concierge about getting to the Titanic exibit at the O2 and he was clueless. I tried to have lunch in the restaurant before leaving for the airport at shortly after noon and it was not open for lunch but I told it opened at noon..

mandeville

Great location for Frieze Art Fair, New Bond St., the tube, many restaurants and shops. The windows are not soundproof and the central air unit makes loud noise, even when not turned on. I put "Do Not Disturb" door tag, instead of knocking on my door, they called me on the room phone, which was equally disturbing when asleep. The shower has only 1/2 screen, which did not prevent the water from splashing onto the floor. Good service.

Will stay again

I was there by myself for a business trip. For a hotel in central London the room was large enough. Very clean & modern feel. I had a street facing room so good sunlight which I like and sound proofing was very good so hardly any street noise. Bathroom was very clean which is very important to me. Staffs were generally friendly, some more than others. Recall the bellman being very friendly & polite, concierge so-so. Two blocks from the Bond Street tube station (Central Line)

A great place in the best location

The Mandeville is a gem. You really feel like you're in London because the hotel is in a neighborhood right off Oxford Street near St. Christopher's Lane, the Bond Street tube stop, and lot's of places to eat, many with tables outside. The staff couldn't be more helpful to make sure everything is right. It's become the only hotel I stay at in London and I've stayed at many.

Quiet, comfortable, convenient

Not the most central hotel, but if your business is nearby or if you don't mind having to switch Tube trains it's a very comfortable place to stay. Close to the shopping of Oxford Road (without being on it, so it's quiet), with varied and wonderful dining options nearby so you don't have to eat in the overpriced hotel restaurant. Service is excellent; staff is friendly and very competent and will take care of you.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

You can find just about any sort of cuisine you could want (steak, Italian, Middle Eastern, French, Greek, and more) within 2 blocks of the hotel - or you can go for basic pub grub in the same area. Ask the concierges for suggestions - they'll point you to nearby hidden gems.
