fab experience
the Metropolitan suited us perfectly: location, room, etc. The tv was a bit kinky but we weren't there that much. Hard to get better than Old Park Lane.

Amazing--I will be back!
I had read some of the other postings about this hotel on this and other sites, and I was a bit worried after booking my fantastic weekend deal, but I went with an open mind. I cannot say how happy I am I stayed at the Metropolitan! The hotel was magnificent--very clean, in a great location close to everything, and the staff was second to none. One drawer was broken in my room and only one pillow on my twin bed was a bit annoying, but I am pretty sure if I had actually called to complain, they would have helped me right away. The rooms were immaculate, the bedding comfortable, and even with a partial view of Hyde Park, my sixth floor Deluxe City Room was fantastic. The breakfast in the hotel was a bit pricey, but what can someone expect for room service in London? May I say, we split an English Breakfast and ordered Eggs Benedict and Pancakes and they were delicious! The only one drawback I have is that the Nobu restaurant was closed for remodeling, as was the bar in the hotel. This was not disclosed to me by Orbitz until after I booked the reservation--and even then, I researched it based on other folks' comments before I went. I am not sure if this was a disconnect with the hotel or Orbitz, but really, this did not take away from my stay. There were plenty of pubs just around the corner, along with the Hard Rock Cafe, so I did not starve, nor was I thirsty. Honestly, when I go back to London, I will check this hotel for availability first. Thank you Metropolitan!

Fit for a Queen!
My daughter and I stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel for 6 days. The location could not have been more central to the TUBE, Green Park, Hyde Park, Piccadilly Circle, Soho, and the best little village in all of Central London: Shepard's Market. We walked all day and came back to luxurious hotel comfort- warm towels, sumptuous robes and slippers, and an extraordinary staff of warm, welcoming people. For breakfast and dinner, we took the 3-minute stroll from the hotel to the quaint Shepard's Market to eat in one of the delightful ethnic restaurants- Indian, Lebanese, etc. --All with luscious food and outdoor dining. The Metropolitan was a pleasant surprise of our first trip to London.

Mayfair Tandoori is the best Indian restaurant from San Francisco to New York City to across the pond! It is nestled in the heart of Shepard's Market- a stone's throw from the Metropolitan Hotel.

Excellent hotel
Visited London with a friend to attend a wedding. Loved the location of the Metropolitan - we walked everywhere despite being right across from a tube station. Located right across from Hyde Park - gorgeous. Pret A Manger is a short walk away - we stopped there for breakfast daily. Decor is simple and modern, and extremely clean. Perfect for our needs - I'd definately stay here again.

Fantastic Location!!
I traveled to London with my teenage son. Wanted to see all the sights. Hotel is conveniently located b/w two tube stops with coffee shops, pubs, restaurants close by. We did not eat in the hotel. Was quite pricey. Room was very comfortable.

First Rate place ,stellar staff
We arrived on my wife's birthday and our adult kids arranged a nice reception which the staff carried off perfectly. The location is super. The hotel small and well done, but the staff from top to bottom is just superb. Attentive but not excessive. It feels like you fell into a well run family and have become an honorary member. Food is quite good and the concierge staff are from heaven. Plus there are many lovely and even affordable resturants nearby.
