There aren't many genuinely quiet streets right in the heart of London. But they do exist - and The Royal Trafalgar is on one of them. In fact, you might never guess that Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square are within five minutes' walk. We have 108 bedrooms, including Premier Executive and Deluxe rooms. Unfortunately we don't have any dedicated meeting rooms at The Royal Trafalgar, but other Thistle hotels in London will be pleased to accommodate you for meetings and events, or if you're looking for a wedding venue. With The City on one side, Whitehall on the other, this is truly the centre of London. The Royal Trafalgar is the perfect base from which to discover the capital's shopping, sightseeing and culture.

Perfect

This hotel was wonderful. My room was perfect; the size and layout was great and the noise level amazingly low for being right in the middle of Central London steps from Trafalgar Square. The staff were so helpful and kind. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay here again most definitely.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

If you are on a tight budget eat at Wetherspoons, as the restaurants are quite expensive in the tourist areas.

Ok, small rooms but nice for the price

Service staff tried hard to please after a couple of minor issues but the issues shouldn't have happen in the first place. Fine for the price I got it at, $120 usd.

Location & Value

I was only coming through London for one night for a meeting. The hotel was perfect, location, room size, and staff attentiveness. A great value for the money.

Great location

At the moment this hotel is discounted at least 30% due to refurbishment works at the hotel. I chose the hotel originally because of the location. It's a great location next to Trafalgar Square for exploring central London. On checking in, I was informed that there could be noise in the day during the refurbishment works. To be honest the only works I could see were going on were in reception and I could not hear anything from the hotel room. The rooms have recently been refurbished and are very nice and clean. The executive room is a good size for central London with a very large double bed. Very good value. The staff were friendly and efficient. I will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a good location.

Good hotel for the money

Modern hotel with nice features like a small refrigerator and great towels, though shower was too short for anyone over 6'3. We were just a few blocks from three different tube stations and next door to the National Gallery, really convenient for our stay. Price was reasonable.

Excellent hotel for the money.

When we first got to the hotel we were mistakenly put in a room with two twin beds, even though we had reserved a room with one double bed. I don't know if this was Orbitz's fault or the hotel's fault. The room itself was of moderate to poor quality (bathroom lights/fixtures didn't work properly, room itself was tiny, etc.). However, the next day we were moved to a room with one double bed on a different floor, and the difference was night and day. The room was large, everything appeared to be new and worked very well, and it even had a fridge and coffee/tea maker. We stayed there for four more nights and were extremely satisfied. Service was top-notch, location was very convenient. Would recommend to anyone.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

This hotel is located in a very touristy part of town, so it often pays to take the tube to put some distance between that area and where you want to eat. Restaurants a little further way are often much cheaper and just as high-quality.
