Great New Years Vacation
The Rubens Hotel is awesome... this was our 2nd trip to London and both times stayed at the Rubens... the staff goes out of their way to know you by name and make you feel welcome every minute you are there. It is a beautiful hotel, the prices are fair and the service and surroundings are perfect. I will stay there every time I travel to London.

Great value and very friendly
The staff were excellent, extremely helpful and friendly. The room was small compared to many good hotel rooms in the States, but for London, very spacey. Excellent shower and bath. All in all, a great value and experience, we will definitely use the Rubens again.

Location, Location, Location
The Rubens At The Palace is a beautiful old hotel situated across the street from Buckingham Palace, the Mews and the Queen's Gallery. It is within walking distance to Westminister Abbey, Parliment, Big Ben, St. James Park, restaurants, two theaters and Victoria Station. We even walked back from the "Eye". The staff is quite accomodating and friendly. Loved the doorman!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Wonderful little Italian restaurant (run by Italians) on Buckingham Palace Road one and one half blocks heading toward Victoria Station. Turn left when you exit the Rubens. It is on the same side of the street.

Fantastic Hotel Stay
We had a great stay. The staff were all super helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and you can't beat the location. This was our 2nd stay and we will stay there again. My 3 year old left her favorite doll in the dining room and when we got back back from sight seeing the staff had already figured it out whose it was and left it in our room. My daughter was thrilled. Also the breakfast was fantastic and again great service. Big Thanks

An old and tired hotel
This is an historic hotel in a very central location. It is an old property in several important aspects: The floors are uneven and creak badly throughout the building. Most of the doors squeek. Walls are paper thin and fixtures are outdated (our travelling companions were in a room with updated fixtures). The elevator is slow and small for the 4 floors it must service.

Nice hotel well situated
Checked into room early no prob. Nice surprise. Very good service from all employees. Around corner from Buckingham Palace. Room very nice...amenities, solid, quiet. Walk to West. Abbey and other sites. Located in largely bus district so quiet neighborhood at night and esp weekends. Did not use hotel restaurant. Restaurants nearby - OK.

Sir Tophom Hat at the Reubens
Our stay at the hotet was especially memorable due to the congeniality and helpfulness of the staff. We were welcomed with a smile when we checked in and then each time we entered or left the hotel. [...] opened the door for us each day with a warm smile and a greeting. I would definitely return.

One block up toward the Palace, make a right and find a small deli/diner owned by an Italian couple. The prices are reasonable and the food was good.
