Good for airport but nickle and dimed to death
This hotel was advertized on this website as having free wifi which is not the case. You had to sign up for their marketing, give all your information, to get 90 lousy mins per day of free wifi. So most people opt to just pay the extra money for the wifi.. It's certainly not as expected Also, most other hotels in the area offer free breakfast and so this is not as great of a deal as you think. Again, had thought that breakfast came with it and then the hotel staff said no.

Great place prior to flights
I've stayed here a number ot times before early morning flights. Like sitting on the deck in the evening with a glass of wine, watching the planes take off. Rooms are comfortable and staff is very helpful.

Good value
Overall the hotel was good. We were not too impressed with the quality of food served by the hotel's restaurant. It was expensive for what we got. The last morning we tried the breakfast buffet and again, we were disappointed. My room was perfectly clean except for the last day, that the bathroom was not cleaned well. This is a good hotel if you need to get to stay close to the airport. The local buses were very helpful in getting to the hotel, one was even free.

Close to airport.
This hotel was very close to the airport, which was important to us. It is not the place to stay, however, if you don't like noise---airplanes take off constantly just across the street from you. But it is a sight to watch!!Shuttles to and from the airport are readily available for a nominal fee.

Just a short walk from the hotel is a cozy English pub where you can get a beer and a nice meal that is less expensive than the hotel.

A serviceable stay
Staff was very helpful whenever I had a request and the accommodations were fine. Not a memorable experience really and I'm glad I was able to get a discounted rate that made the stay more reasonable.

Overnight at Heathrow
An overnight at Heathrow waiting for a connecting flight is not supposed to be a vacation--it's sometimes just an unfortunate requirement imposed by bad timing. The Thistle Hotel meets the basic need. But while the rooms are low-ceiling rabbit warrens, the breakfast buffet was sumptuous and the view of take-offs and landings spectacular. Best of all were the cheery and helpful hotel staff. This pleasant morning surprise and the easy access by the improbably-named "hoppa" shuttle makes the delay-in-travel as tolerable as possible.

Dingy and in need of an update
The location is great, the hotel is similar to a Motel 6. The rooms are dark, with peeling wallpaper and musty smells. Okay for an overnight, but definitely not an extended stay.

There's a free bus from Heathrow Terminal 5 to the hotel (it's the second stop on the bus route). It's the 423 bus.

Good value, hard to find!
Good value for the money, but incredibly difficult to find the actual hotel. Better directions would be much appreciated. Did have a nice shuttle directly to Terminal 5 at LHR.
