Long weekend getaway
The hotel was nice, bathrooms larger than most in London. The only drawback was construction going on at all hours in the street. Not being a morning person it was disconcerting to wake up to loud noise at 7 am ish...

Lovely hotel
Stayed for a weekend for a wedding. It was very well placed for Mayfair where the wedding was held at a local church. Lovely centre with restaurants and nice shops. Hotel staff were very pleasant and couldnt do enough to help especially when clothes turned up creased. They were very quick to help. cases taken to my room and a polite member of staff took my cases and asked whether I required any more assistance. Didn't have breakfasts ore meals there as we booked through e bookers and meals werent included. The menu however did look quite good although it was quite expensive. It was cheaper to eat out. The room was exceptionally hot and even when thermostat was turned down the room remained hot. Slept with window open for two nights. THis did not ruin our stay as the hotel was just what we needed. Would definitely go there again as it was so well placed.Only about 5 minutes from Regent street and even less to Bond Street

good location
Hotel staff were very nice and friendly. The room was quiet and the beds were comfortable enough to have a good sleep in after a long day of sightseeing. Good quality bedding sheets. Great bath products at this hotel.

Excellent location: walking distance
Excellent location: walking distance to shops (New Bond St, Oxford Street), theatres, parks, Buckingham palace. 2 minutes' walk to Green Park tube station (direct links with St Pancras International and Heathrow Airport). Despite all of this, QUIET. Service: nice enough, the receptionist allowed us to check in well before the 2PM check-in time. Room: nicely-decorated, spacious room, nice bathroom. We had a room on the first floor that faced the back, so we had a view onto a wall, but there were nice plants to make it feel less claustrophpic. All in all, fairly good value for money (137 pounds for a double w/out breakfast) given the location and the 4-star standard.

Super Hotel, Perfect Location
The location of the hotel is perfect. Walking distance to many sites. If you take a tour bus you can buy your tickets in the lobby (cash only though) and only need to walk one block to start of tour. If you are using a credit card you can buy the tickets right at the bus. Either way is convenient. Hotel had all the amenities you would expect. The only thing we found strange (and it was like this everywhere we went in Europe) was there were no outlets in the bathrooms (except for a shaver outlet). So although a hairdryer was provided, you had to use it in another part of the room. Not the easiest way to see what you were doing. Then again with the London rain, worrying about your hairstyle seemed kind of ridiculous after a few days. The bathroom was really beautiful and spa-like. The room itself was comfortable, modern and clean. I liked that you could open the nice big windows for fresh air if you wanted. I would absolutely stay here again. Priced right for the quality you are expecting.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
There is a fantastic Lebanese cafe catty corner to the hotel. Inexpensive and superb food. Also a Nero Coffee house is across the street for inexpensive breakfast of muffins and coffee. There is a coffee maker in room, but for those wanting american coffee...go to Nero's.

We chose the Washington because
We chose the Washington because of its great location, its looks and its pricing and we were not disappointed. Only a short stroll (~1km) to Buckingham Palace, Parliament House, the Theatre District, British Museum and more. Lots of great little alleyways with nice quaint restaurants to eat breakfast or dinner.

SECOND TIME
We stayed here 17 years ago, our first trip to London, and I was very pleased to find the same hotel with the same level of service. The location is excellent for access to major London sites and we really enjoyed exploring Shepherd's Market, which we'd overlooked the first time. I'd gladly go back the next time I'm in London.
